I'm using this size with the cooper stmaxx. It's been a good setup so far.

I do run these pizza cutters! KO2 load E, put them on the truck right off of the lot. Have really liked them but it isn't like I've run some other size for comparison.

For the KO2 they weigh 48 lbs per tire with a diameter of 31.7" which is appreciably lighter than the more popular 265/75R16 at 53 lbs with a nearly identical diameter of 31.6". Apparently the ~40 sq in of extra tread in that wider tire weighs 5 lbs.

I run mine at 46 psi. I determined this "recommended" pressure based on taking the stock P265/70R16 door sticker values of 29/32 which correspond to a load of 2015/2115 for that tire and checking the LT235/85R16 load curve for the same loads which gives 45/47 as the recommended pressure. As a sanity check the TRD Pro runs LT265/70R16 stock and the door sticker is 46/46 so this calculated pressure is in the ballpark. In fact load matching based on the TRD Pro gives an even higher recommended pressure for the LT235/85R16 of 50 psi.

I have not run a chalk test at 46 psi but when hot after a long drive they are at 51 psi which is right at a 10% temperature rise that is expected for a tire at a good road pressure. They have also worn reasonably evenly at that pressure with a slight increase in the center wear over 13000 miles. Likely this size would run well at lower road pressures too but remember a LT tire doesn't even have its load curve defined below 35 psi!

I usually air down to 18 psi hot (I'm always airing down hot naturally).

I understand people care about how tires look on the truck and often request pictures:

Oh, and despite the narrow tread they still hold Easter eggs nicely:

I have ran the 235/85/16's for the last year on my truck. I have a 2 inch lift and I think they fill the wheel wells nicely. The tires seem to wear best at 38-40 psi. This tire takes me virtually anywhere I'm willing to take this truck.

I wonder if there is anyone out there running this size on a 3rd Gen? I am looking to possibly upsize 1" on diameter from my OEM 265/70/16 tires and this may be a way for me to go. Does anyone get any rubbing using the 235/85/16 size on a 3rd gen stock suspension aka no lift?

Even though the weight is more than the stock Goodyear Adventures, the slightly reduced contact patch wonder if it would make up a bit for the MPG loss when you upsize to 265/75/16 from stock? Any feedback on this would me much appreciated.

    I run duratracs 235-85-16 goodyears
On my 2016 TRD Off road.
No issues, I had them on the truck I traded in so I had the dealer put the new tires on my old truck and my 235's on my new one.
Ran about a year then lifted the truck 2in.
Now looks a bit to narrow but looked great at stock hieght. The truck I traded in was a first gen. I plan on geeting new wheels and tires but might try the 255-85-16 with the lift.

Do the e rated tires ride rough on a single cab with it being pretty light?

:annoyed: Seeing that my 16x9 Ray 10s really won't accept this size. May have to sell the wheels for my next set of tires. :angrygirl:

It’s not too bad. But I have always ran 10plys on all my trucks so I mah just be use to it. If I know I’m going to spend the day on back roads I generally drop them to 30psi to soften the ride. But what I can say is I have 55k in thisbset and still have 4/32 tread left

Airing down to appropriate weight should suffice. Mine say 80PSI. I'd never run them at that PSI. Usually 40-45.
That's what I had to do.
