Specifically 3rd gen owners. Mind you, it's not all of them - just the majority.

I missed this one... good ones are few and far between but it's not a bad idea.
From what I've seen it's people who have been around a little while who don't know how to contain themselves

You think Toyota will reboot the 3rd gen?

The one thing I truly hate about 3rd gens is that they are driving the price of 1st gens and 2nd gens to the stratosphere...

To some extent it goes both ways. There are G3 owners who like to brag about how their rigs are superior....and more importantly, a fair percentage of G3 owners (at least here on TW) get very defensive if even the slightest thing negative is said about their rigs.

Personally....I couldn't care any less about any of it

Eventually they will. But Toyota typically runs long model cycles with their trucks. As a rule, sometime around the the 3rd or 4th model year you might start to see some minor cosmetic changes here and there...lights, bumpers, maybe a grill, etc. But that's no guarantee. Just depends on whether they feel like it's warranted and if they're busy with other model changes and/or launches.

Today, the boss is buying cinder blocks at Home Depot for a project at work and her car doesn't have anywhere near enough space to hold all of them.

It's gonna be about 90°F, I'm of course gonna be blasting the A/C in the Tacoma, and I'm gonna have a bunch of cinder blocks in the bed...

I'll probably be able to see my fuel gauge plummeting right before my eyes!

They're running behind schedule today, so the Home Depot run was cancelled. Probably gonna end up doing it tomorrow or Friday.

The Home Depot people do that at the store, then the barbacks would probably help the two of us back at the bar...

Wish I had, though I had no way to prove otherwise anyway.

I was biting my tongue thinking "Self, don't even mention that, you can't prove it and you'll just come across as being angry. You have tons of other data that'll get this thrown out without a second thought..."

I bought two of those temperature gauge thermometer things at Pep Boys about a month ago.

A performance test at the Toyota dealer last summer (2016) showed that my A/C was putting out 41°F at the vents (at least according to the service tech). The refrigerant level was also checked and I was surprised to learn that my truck had not lost even the slightest bit of refrigerant. This was AFTER a fender bender in August 2015 that resulted in a bent radiator support. UPDATE: After a comment from a member I am 99.9% sure the tech was bullshitting me about the 2nd part.

The Pep Boys temp gauge typically gives a readout of about 50°F (This picture was taken on a deserted residential street with the truck idling and rolling but no foot on the gas, after I'd just gotten home):
    IMG_6066.jpg

    Some pictures of my engine...

My 2.7L, at a little over 73K miles (running with the A/C on in these pictures):
    IMG_6067.jpg

Trying to get pictures of the compressor:
    IMG_6068.jpg IMG_6069.jpg IMG_6070.jpg

Underhood sticker (I was surprised when I found out that the 2nd gen Tacoma uses the same brand of A/C parts as many GM vehicles; You might be surprised to learn that Rolls-Royce and Bentley motorcars used Delphi-Harrison compressors in the 1980s!):
    IMG_6072.jpg

As per the instructions that came with the temperature gauge, 60°F is normal (see first photo). Anything higher than 60°F and you'll probably want to get it looked at. The first photo was taken at idle in my driveway with an outside temperature of about 90°F (AGAIN, I now think this is BS):
    IMG_6073.jpg

To achieve optimum operating temperature, the instructions recommend turning the air-conditioner to "MAX A/C" and revving the engine:
    IMG_6074.jpg

I've achieved temps between 41 and 45 while revving the engine at idle, and 45-50 when driving at normal cruising speeds:

My mom got me a $50 gift card for the gym where we are all members, as a birthday present (as in more than 2 months ago). It's been gathering dust in my bedroom the whole time. It's been a stressful few days, and today I figured a massage would be a great way to relieve that stress.

After my 90-minute massage, I was getting ready to leave when I spotted a fish tank in an adjacent room. I looked a little bit closer and realized that the fish residing in it were saltwater fish! Specifically Clownfish, also known as anemonefish. One of the other women who works there (a Vietnamese woman who gave me a wrap about two years ago if I remember correctly) told me that the aquarium belongs to another massage therapist by the name of John. I wound up meeting John and he was all too happy to answer all of my questions and let me take pictures. I even have some iPhone video of feeding time (to be posted later).

So in addition to the Clownfish (Gus and Gertie; yes they are the marine equivalent of a married couple), this 15-gallon acrylic aquarium is home to 2 salt and pepper shrimp, 2 hermit crabs, 2 snails, and 2 worms.

60° is NOT normal. If my AC blew 60° air I'd be trying to figure out wtf is wrong with it. I live in AZ where air conditioning is used 9 months out of the year. :bananadead:
