Just ordered this bad Larry. This entire thread is clearly a depiction of this company's ups and downs of product quality.
They seem to have this rear bumper sitch squared away now.
I'll get a pick up once installed.

Fit perfect, no issues except getting the stubborn factory bolts off. Def pre soak those bad boys for a couple days if you plan on taking the factory bumper off for any reason.
The actual assembly and alignment of the new bumper took 30 minutes once the factory bumper was gone.
I have a new smaller eye style reverse camera i mounted close to the hitch now and i also just got my led plate bolts from oznium in last night, which ill get installed this evening.

Is have one for three years now, no issues and I installed myself. It saved me twice so far. Once someone reared me while I was parked. No damage but heavy white paint rubbed onto my bumper, I didn't witness the hit. I also backed into a large granite outcropping and stuck a boulder.,scratch on bumper, stock bumper and rear quarter panel would have been toast. I'm very happy and thick they are a great value.

Again, I know this post is old but I am interested in the Body Armor rear bumper and tire carrier combo. I would really like to see a video of the tire carrier in action. I would also like to see the spare tire bolt alignment issues.

I can't find any videos on the web and the only real pictures I can find are on here and it doesn't show the tire carrier in action.

    Thanks in advance!

I wish that I would have found this thread before buying my front bumper from Road Armor. I hate the thing. Fitment issues from top to bottom.

I think the bumper is great. I had no fitment issues or alignment issues. Went on pretty easy, though the instructions could have been better. I also had the tire carrier with the optional Roto-Pax mount. Loved it when it worked. A couple of the welds cracked on the Roto-Pax carrier during normal highway driving and road vibration. The tire carrier, I had to buy and change out the bearing pack 3 times in one year. The bearings kept getting gummed up from road grime and dust and dirt from the trails. Also, the weight of the tire and a full 3 gallon Roto-Pax was, I believe, to much weight for the single pivot point, which is another design flaw in the Body Armor tire carrier. When I would have to change out the bearing pack for the pivot, I would find the bearing ring bent because of the weight it had to carry. I would skip on the tire carrier and get a Wilco hitch mounted tire carrier. I hear they are pretty stout.

Thanks for the insight! The tire carrier is the primary incentive behind my interest in the bumper. I will probably pass on the setup.

for all of you that have this bumper, did you all use the metal spacer in between the bumper bracket to the frame? I forgot to put it in, however, mine turns out OK, but i wonder if it is a MUST.

    Thanks

I installed the bumper and tire rack last month. I would think that the spacers are fairly important. In my opinion, you should take the time to go back and install them.

BTW, this was one of my favorite threads and one of the main reasons I opted for the BA stuff. I just had to experience the install and see for myself what the deal was.

As it turns out the instructions are indeed weak, but if you take your time it's not rocket science. I'm really pleased with both the bumper and the gate.

    Cheers

I had the tire swing out too for my Body Armor bumper, but eventually took it off. Loved the look of it, but I had problems with the bearing packs for the tire swing. I had to replace the bearing pack 3 times in one year. Got tired of it, so I took the tire swing off. Love the bumper though and get many compliments on it.

I've only had the gate on for about a month. So far so good. I packed the bearings using a grease packing tool and ensured the cap was installed properly. Based on the fit and the fact that the gate is being supported by the locking side of the unit 99% of the time, I can't see there ever being a problem with those bearings. But time will tell.

I hope you have better luck than me. I think I am gonna go with a Wilco hitch gate. Just need to save up the money.

How mine currently looks. There has been three separate collisions onto the frame over the years so that’s why it is sitting a little crooked.
