I may end up just dumping it like chads, I got parts coming for the build and the chrome tip won't look right anymore

 

Working on chrome delete myself. All I got left is the chrome lug nuts.

 

Added an electric lock to my topper!



The factory glass has three holes for the keyed lock so the things on either side are just rubber caps for a temporary fix. I'm thinking of getting a plastic plate 3d printed to cover them up and look a little more factory. The locks works great though!

Here's a video also showing the key backup. It's not as loud as it sounds. As you can see I also have an electric tailgate lock and that's where almost all the noise is coming from.

 

Even less with an angle grinder.

I don't mind my chrome lugnuts enough to spend the $75 on a replacement set that's just going to get scratched up.

 

That's why they will stay that way.

Looks good. I keep going back and forth if I want one or not. It is kinda nice now just throwing stuff back there without raising the door. But then your stuff is dry and secure if you have one. I'm still thinking...

 

I paid about $35 for my splined black lugs from summit.

 

I've been wanting to go for years, but it's always out of the way for me. And yes, the traffic was a bitch, especially trying to go back up to I20. Must have hit 20 school zones lol
