Hey guys, I was just wanting to get some insight on if a camper shell I've found will fit my taco or not. Guy says it's off a Tacoma but he has no clue what year. It's Leonard brand, white aluminum and he's asking 80 or best offer it. He says it is 55 inches wide and 65 inches long. I know my bed is 5ft, but with the lip of the bed behind the cab, and the tailgate, will 65 inches fit? Any info is greatly appreciated!

If it's "off a Tacoma" I'd ask what year it came off of... You have an '09 short bed, so a shell off of any other 2005-2015 Tacoma short bed should fit.

That being said, what you consider to fit and what he considers to "fit" may be COMPLETELY different. His 65" may be different than your 65"- after all, most guys over-measure... Everything.

It's $80obo... What's the worst that could happen? Ask him for pictures of it on the truck it came off of, then offer him $50. Use it and abuse it- if it looks terrible you're down one nights beer money, and you have a functioning shell while you wait and watch Craigslist or the classifieds for a better one

He said he doesn't know what year truck it came off of so that's where the fitment is in question. It's in good shape besides having stickers allllll over the windows, which I'll just take off and clean up. I've seen pictures of it, but not on the truck it was originally on.

Snugtop's have a serial number on a small plate on the inside. I bought mine used and had the guy selling it tell me what the serial number was, I called Snugtop with it and they told me when it was made and for what trucks it fit.
OP- hopefully the one your buying has a serial number because that will give you all the info you are look for!

Or you could just go see him, try it on your truck then decide if it fits or not. That way you know for sure. How would you get it otherwise?
