You can run them all in a day if you start in the morning. There's some distance between some of them though. You just have to plan you route accordingly. My recommendation is to hit Dicks Creek (Kennesaw Ln) first and then hit Charlies Creek and be sure to run the off shoots on that one. Time wise, after Charlie's Creek you can head down toward Helen and pick up Indian grave gap Rd off of the main Rd and run it to the top of tray mountain and then take tray Mountain Rd down the back side (Chimney mtn) and from there head to Suches to run Flatland. At the end of Flatland turn left on FS33 (cooper Creek) which will progress you toward springer Mountain which has hawk mtn Rd and nimblewill Gap Rd. From there, hit Sheep Wallow on the south side of 52.

That's a good suggestion, you could take a day and a half if you wanted to take your time. Just camp at Trey since there are quite a few spots to camp

I do not recommend camping at the top of Tray. The winds at night are brutal!

That campsite at the bottom by the creek is always full every time I've been up there.

That usually where we stay, it's pretty big tho, goes way far into the back. There are a few on the easy side as well

around mid June, I'm going to stone mountain park with family. Any local trails within this area? I wouldn't mind checking a few out.

Still mapping out our route. When you guys talk about going down the chimney side of Tray... Once you hit Tray from Indian Grave, you turn right and come out on the same highway you started on but closer to Helen?

We want to end up in Helen at the end, so thinking Flatland first, then up Chimney side of Tray and out Indian Grave.... Then over to Charlie's and Dicks. Then back to Helen.

Is Tray in that direction any more or less fun?

What about the rest of Tray toward the east? It looks long. Is it worth the trip or mostly easy dirt?

If you go up the Chimeny side it's fun then going down is just dirt roads so you can get some speed if you like (usually what me and my friends do) we go flying down and just slow around corners so we don't hit anybody

Cool thanks. I'm trying to figure out which leg is what people call the chimney side. Looking at a map, when Indian grave rd intersects tray mtn trail, which way do you turn for the chimney side?

When coming up Indian grave, go left on Tray Mountain Rd. You will eventually get to the top where there is a big open area and a road the goes to left (Corbin Creek Rd) and one to the right (Chimney side of Tray Mtn). You want to go right.

Thanks guys. This is coming together really well. I've read a couple of the trails we are planning have gotten washed out more since all the rain. Does anyone know from a recent trip or can anyone speculate if Flatland would still be reasonable for a stock TRDOR without expecting body damage on the parts where you lean heavy toward the banks? Not worried about stucks, as we have plenty of winches. Thanks

Flatland is probably doable stock with the right lines. If you get body damage at Flatland, you did it wrong. If flatland is wet, I would not go near it on stock tires as it can be pretty slippery in the off camber spots.

What an awesome weekend! It was relatively cool and sunny all day Friday. We hit Flatland, Chimney Mountain and Tray Mountain. Stayed in Helen due to the flood warnings. Next day was off and on rain. We rode Charlie's and the off shoots, and looked for Dicks Creek but didn't find it. We were going to take Mill Creek to Wildcat all the way across and discovered it doesn't go across anymore. So we went as far as we could from both ends. We camped at Charlie's just as the rain ended and the sun came out. Perfect night to camp. Sunday we woke up to sunshine. We drove back across Charlie's to Helen and tubed the river. Headed home just as it clouded up.

Thanks for all the maps and advice. The stock 17' did it all with no issues. The rock sliders DID pay for themselves though! Flatland was a hoot but I could have used a couple of inches more clearance underneath. Beautiful Trails.
