It was a Titan, not a Frontier. Not so little...

They also totaled an innocent civilian's Ridgeline. Any cop who can't tell a Ridgeline from an actual pickup truck needs to have his or her eyes checked!

Mine has always sucked. It works, but on a hot day it leaves a lot to be desired

what's the issue? A/C is designed to lower temps by 20-30 degrees, IIRC.

What was the ambient temperature when you collected those readings? Without knowing that those numbers don't mean much...

What I have noticed is that Tacomas AC doesn't work as well as other vehicles when sitting still. But while driving, it can freeze your nutz off.

One way to check that would be to crank the AC up, would it not?

All one has to do to determine if the refrigerant level is proper is to know the ambient temperature, connect a manifold/gauge set, and monitor the high and low pressures with the AC running flat out (max cold, blower on high, recirculation off, all vents open) and the engine running 1500 to 2000 rpm.

Then using a generic chart like this, or better yet one from the manufacturer, compare the gauge readings to those listed for the current ambient temperature:

If the pressures are within the suggested ranges the charge is OK, if not as they should be the high/low relationship (as compared to the chart) of the two will suggest possible issues:

Anyone can do this, there is not a bit of rocket science or wizardry involved, you can buy , $48 with one of their always available 20% off coupons. It is often on sale for $45 with a product specific coupon...

If R134a is supposedly better for the environment, why is it illegal to vent it?

Lol the charge is "ok" meaning it's somewhere in the ballpark of "full". Like I said, there is no way of knowing exactly how much is in the system unless you vac and recharge. The gauges tell you if the system is functioning properly with the current level of refrigerant. They do not tell you the amount of refrigerant.

My A/C numbs my fingers... If I start the truck one day and get blasted by hot air when I turn on the A/C, I'll know there's a problem...

That's what happened with my dad's 1996 Nissan Pathfinder in the summer of 2003. My dad bought the Pathy brand new in May 1996 and the A/C never had a problem until like August of 2003. We were living in Northern Virginia at the time and A/C is obligatory there in the summer. My dad literally started the Pathfinder one morning to go to work, turned on the A/C, and it was blowing hot air. It had been blowing cold the day before. He brought it to a Goodyear Gemini place to get the A/C recharged, and the A/C was still blowing ICE COLD when we traded it for my Tacoma in September 2009.

Because lefties, who have taken over the EPA and most of government, are devoid of logic and thus incapable of rational thought. They are driven driven by their emotions and "feelings". Look up haw many humans have died because DDT was banned...

I'm not sure why you're quoting and replying to me as if I'm saying your system isn't working or charged properly? I'm not saying that. It sounds like it's working great and you don't have any problems. I feel like there is some sort of language barrier causing confusion. :goingcrazy:
