Actually I started out as a Nuke. The admiral I posted about earlier that I hunt with in SD was in Nuke school same time as I was. He ended up being in charge of the US Submarine Fleet and more than 50% of the US nuclear weapons.

But I met 2 girls from Tn. on Daytona beach one weekend and didn't go back to the base I ended up spending the week with them until we all ran out of money. Hey it was the 70's.. So the Navy said I was unreliable and busted me and wouldn't let me play around the reactor anymore. The admiral jokes that I was far from unreliable if I could spend a week with 2 women and if he would have been in charge at the time he would have given me a medal instead of busting me. I still have a fondness for Tn.

At MCAS El Toro I used to like watching the fighter jets taking off at night . Nothing like a F4 Phantom at full power with the afterburners lit
