    Hey guys,

My wife found out today that her thyroid is extremely Hyperthyroid to the point that the hormones are lethal. They can't perform surgery or radioactive Iodine treatments because her Thyroid Hormone levels are too high. They are putting her on medicine immediately that acts like a Chemotherapy which reduces her white blood count, and could cause liver disease, as well as infertility. Prayers are much appreciated as I know she is scared out of her mind right now.

    Thanks everyone!

    Zack

    Thanks Everyone.

She is having a hard time with it. The meds are heavy and wearing hard on her and making her sick. We aren't sure if she is allergic to them or not. The doc says to just take it easy on them. So I am watching her closely.

I appreciate your continued prayers and thoughts!

    Zack

Will keep you in prayer. My bride has been on synthroid a long time, a few weeks ago her numbers went out of whack for some reason and she thought she was having a heart attack and had to call 911. She had those symptoms for about a week.Long story short after they tested her tsh levels and adjusted her meds she seems to be fine. Hope your wife gets to be fine too.

Just wanted to say thank you for all of the prayers and thoughts. Claire is doing well. She had her thyroid removed and is healing nicely. She starts back to work tomorrow and is excited about it. The change in her is remarkable. As long as i have known her she has been a certain person and now she is brand new. It is amazing how much the Thyroid controls. Just for the heck of it here is a few of our wedding pictures.

Glad to hear she is doing better. My mom has minor breast cancer and the specialist that did blood/hormone work told her every woman she has worked with had low iodine levels.

I know this is an old thread of mine, but figured an update would be in order.

Claire's recovery has been fantastic. She obviously has to regulate her thyroid hormones and that took a while to get under control. We were told that she would be sterile after the treatment to shrink her thyroid prior to removal and decided that is fine, we will have dogs and travel. We brought Ellie (golden retriever) home that first week she went back to work and the companionship that Ellie offered was like no other. After selling my tacoma and going through a rough time trying to get a house, we finally got a place of our own. I ended up getting an F-150 after a few months of being there, and we got another puppy (Hugo, Ellie's biological sister from another litter). We decided to start our travels right after we brought Hugo home in the summer of 2015. We went and visited all of our family across the country. Made it from Maryland to Utah and back. On the way back we decided what an adventure life is and how can we simply accept that we cannot have kids to share it with. About 10 Months later, I found myself holding my newborn baby boy. It has been a year now since he was born and we couldn't imagine life without him. I will post some pictures of our adventures. After he was born, I switched jobs to be close to home and took a paycut doing so. I sold the F-150 and got a terrible 2004 Grand Cherokee and really got a terrible deal. Two weeks ago we decided it was simply unsafe for me to be driving my son around and so with a new job, my pay back to where it should be and my son almost a year old, we bit the bullet and I am finally back in a Tacoma.

Thank you all for your continued prayers and support. We couldn't have gotten through these times without them.

I also started a blog about being a dad if anyone is interested in reading it. I am open to suggestions to make it better. http://awesomedadgear.com

Here is Ellie (left) and Hugo (right) from a few weeks ago.

This IS an awesome update!!! Great news about the wife & baby!

I love Goldens almost as much as they love us & I have the pleasure of having one as a compnion myself.

On a somewhat related note. My young man went thru chemo & radiation leading up to his bone marrow transplant. He too was sterile...except he wasn't. It's as if he was never I'll and his son is fine too. (St. Jude is amazing & everything you read & see about them bending over backwards for children & their families is true).

    Thanks for keeping us posted!

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
