What's the heaviest load that anyone has carried in the back of their Tacoma? I am about to do an add-a-leaf plus firestone ride-rites and just curious how much weight I would be able to throw in the back.

I'd give about 2800lbs a try. See how it works out?

Go until the load starts to spill out from the sides, then stop, or you can keep going. Whatever makes you and the truck happy is really the most important thing to consider.

    Hope this helps!

I put 2 pallets of landscaping stone in the back of my DCLB and drove 15mi home. Just a smidge over 3000lbs. The tailgate was down. People here worry too much. :crapstorm:

The rear suspension was sitting on the stops. Braking was fine, accelerating was fine. Just push the pedals down a bit more and leave extra distance, it's not rocket science.

I'd take two loads next time, but they were closing and I wanted to just get the crap without having to go back the next weekend.

I ordered sumosprings and dakar leafs since then. I plan on overloading it plenty more times. They're waiting in the garage for install. She's a capable and reliable little truck. :militarypress:
