6 Speed Manual Owners Unite!

I went to a dealer in Tysons Corner Va, which is less then 10 miles from D.C and very urban. I went to the dealer(easily a 45-1 hr. Drive) knowing they were a high volume Tacoma dealer and that they had 2 6 spds on the lot. A sr5 and a trd sport. Test drive both and picked the trd(not a difficult decision), the whole time the salesman was trying to tell me I didn't want manual if I drive around the area.
I couldn't get him to understand I came to him because he was the only 1 w/ a manual.
But I couldn't be happier a/ my decision, and got a great deal

 

Yeah I had called ahead to the owner of the dealership I bought from and told him what configuration I wanted and came by a month later and he had my truck sitting out front for me. It was pretty hard to bargain with the guy after the test drive put a giant grin on my face.

Picked this up a few weeks ago, but forgot about this thread until I was scrolling through my watched threads today. Its a '13 dcsb sport in Barcelona red. Loving the 6 speed so far, shifts like butter! Hardest part for me is trying to get used to the different clutch release points since I also have a 5speed and switch between them frequently. Other than that it's great!

 

230,000 miles and running strong! Just need to fix my transmission

 

Whats wrong with it?

 

It locked up in first one day and I had a Toyota dealership work on it and they never fixed it right and now it falls out of 3rd and grinds if you don't know how to drive it

 

damn that's not good what did Toyota diagnose it as?

That's the thing is they never did! They tried tried to fix it for a month and told me they weren't a transmission so they gave me my money back...

That's what I think now! Just find a new one and replace it!

 

I really like my truck....it came free with the millennial anti-theft system.

 

No don't replace it. Open it up and replace the gears you need.

 

I just have to said, I love my 6 speed!!!! I have 260,000 plus miles on it, and its been great.

 

I wonder how much complaining they would have done if they had to drive my old '51 Dodge one-ton...

 

I love my 2011 6-Speed MT...

 

Wouldn't matter...my 09 6 speed runs at a higher rpm in 6th gear @ 70 than my buddies 96 4runner does
