I know what everyone is thinking...no..just no, but my question is a little bit different here.

I have absolutely zero desire to install the standard spacer type differential drop that uses the spacer to drop just the front 1/2 of the diff. What I am wondering is why no one makes replacement brackets for the Tacomas like they do for the Hilux?

    Problems I can see:

    1. Obviously decreases ground clearance, under the diff housing.
    2. Skids have to be modified or fabbed with the drop in mind. I don't see this as necessarily being a bad thing because it looks like everywhere except the diff could actually be raised.
    3. There is a weird hump welded between the front 2 mounts that looks like it would need to be cut off.
    4. The rear mount limits how far it could drop.
    5. There is a clearance issues with the front U joint on the driveshaft.
    6. What would dropping the housing do to the plunge of the cv's? For all I know they have enough play to take it but who knows.

3 ,4 ,and, 5 above are solvable problems with a cutting and rewelding and or finding some low profile bushings.
