CBI has some that are extremely well made. I use it for an antenna mount personally. But its really beefy and bolts up to the finder bolts.

I have something similar to these for my rigid srq lights (without the extra top bracket). Uses set screws to clamp on to the hood lip(or any fender/body panel lip). Work great!! And cheap af. Ha. I've had some cbi brackets before too. Wasn't impressed myself. Sold em. They're Probly fine for small pods. But anything heavier they're not that sturdy and kinda shaky(had 4.5" vision x cannon clones). My srqs with the hood lip mounts are strong and don't vibe. I can whack em and they don't budge. But they certainly won't hold anything bigger if you ever plan to upgrade to the larger style "pods"(bd squadrons/cannons) due to the small mounting hole. Small pods only.

The cannons shook on bumps(especially on washboard dirt roads theyd shake like crazy). The little srq pods on hood don't budge one bit. Even thru car washes they don't rotate or anything.

There's a good flat spot on the top of hood that it fits perfect on. Although I noticed if you go out much farther towards the fender than where mine are mounted they end up being a little crooked due to the curve in the hood. Probably more noticeable with mine than pods would be as mine are wide single row pods...

They usually come with a rubber pad too, to protect the paint. You can also find other styles. They're more commonly used for universal antenna mounts. That's what mine are(vs the light mounts they now make). I took the top antenna base off of mine and used just the u shaped bracket. Had to get a smaller countersunk bolt tho. Ymmv depending on how your pods mount(if you wanted a more low-profile look like mine) but Probly best to stick with the ones made for lights with the light bracket on it vs trying the antenna made ones.

Edit: the u shaped brackets (without the extra hardware, just the set screws and hole drilled) I've bought before too for only a few bucks. Can't find them again tho. But can be had and will need a countersunk bolt inverted from underneath with the nut on top(if your pods allow it).

I have Rigid Duallies on my CBI brackets. They don't move one bit.

I wonder if you could gusset them, and have a sturdier bracket for those cannons:notsure:
