I love my 6MT. It shifts a little slow and first could be lower and 6th could be higher but it's been great so far.

I'm curious myself...what's wrong with parking in gear? Its way safer than being in neutral and only using the parking brake... if it fails and you're on any sort of incline/decline you're screwed.

Couldn't agree more gentlemen. Maybe he's a tow truck driver. With my old fwd car, it didn't get towed because the truck driver couldn't get it out of the spot. The e brake locked the rear tires and the front tires were locked from being in gear. I only know this because the tow company told me as we were picking up my friends car from them (hers got towed). They were gonna go back for mine, but I was outta there too quickly.

I always come to a stop in 1st with my foot on the clutch, pull the e-brake then let off the clutch. That way the e-brake (not the transmission) is holding the bulk of the vehicle weight, and should that fail I can rest easy knowing it's in gear and won't go anywhere.

People that leave the car in gear when parked on a normal incline. Lol, I just always use the clutch cancel to start my truck, so when I get it back from an inspection or alignment and I go to start the truck I normally get a surprise

Different strokes for different folks...however I'm fairly certain that if you were to take your driver's license test in a manual trans vehicle and didn't keep it in gear while parked, you'd fail the test.

If I'm on a moderate incline I leave it in gear, but also expect it to be in gear when I go to start it since it's probably in gear so the parking brake has help... however when firestone parks my truck in the parking lot I hardly find it necessary to use the transmission to assist the parking brake

Bahaha that's your own damn fault. Why use the button? That's more effort than it's worth. Only times I used the button is if I needed to start the truck without hopping in right away.

You have a lot of faith in your e-brake, lol. I have to tighten mine every so often, no way I'd ever be able to walk away from my truck with just the e-brake on and not be super paranoid, then again I have the old first gen 'pimp cane' style e-brake so maybe the design has gotten better in later gens.

It hasn't lol it's the one one the dash still... i have full coverage and have never had to file a claim until last week (hail) so if my truck runs away in a 2% or less incline so be it. I'd like a new plate bumper anyways

Just super convenient... hop in turn the key and push button simultaneously = easy start, plus I push my clutch enough

Especially if it's a column shift. I'd guess there would be a decent number that would have quite a surprise thinking they're in 1st, let the clutch out, and smack the car behind...

actually it was the old industrial 4 speed and low was the granny gear... all the gears had to be double clutched or they would grind.

Not many these days would know how to drive one, that along with the starter being down on the floor just above the gas pedal would have them totally confused... ;)
