I went to one late last year. Got there around 10 and the thing was already breaking up and people were driving out. So go early! There were tons of cool machines there of all kinds. Some of them did "stupid burnout tricks" when leaving too. The coolest car there to my mind was this. I can't believe it had street tags!

I'd really like to do that but I think if I did it I would want to switch to a 2012+ steering wheel Too

    Hi All

Long time lurker, first time poster.

Was just wondering how everyone's Taco is registered here in PA. When I changed over to PA registration last year, I was told there were weight classes. With my current registration, I was told that even though my V6 2nd gen is rated at 5500 lbs GVWR, I'm only registered for 5000 lbs (which I could easily exceed if I fill up all 5 seats in the truck with people weighing 160 lbs or more before even putting anythign in the bed). How did you guys do your registration?

I was just through this a month ago, and I dont remember dealing with it. The dealership changed my registration from my car to apply to my tacoma. A couple weeks later, I got a weight class 2 sticker in the mail.

I'm registered the same way. It's cheaper, and unless your truck is fat (bumpers, armor, winch, gear, etc) you'll probably be okay.

I'm told some of the covered bridges do weight enforcement, but otherwise they don't look to hard at non-commercial vehicles.

Yeah....if I'd get stopped and weighed I'd be in trouble.

The likelihood of you getting weighed is pretty slim. With your truck weighing 4200lb from the factory you only have 800lbs to play with.

Only place where vehicles get weighed regularly is the turnpike at the toll booths. Who knows if the cameras are linked to a database showing weight class or if there's a state trooper looking at that stuff. If there is and you're over you can bet your ass you'll be getting a bill in the mail.

For $24/year more it isn't like it's a drastic increase in cost to have it registered as class 2.

If you ever get pulled over and weighed, it is because you have a huge unicorn in your bed, and the LEO was curious how much it weighed. You will never ever get stopped for it.
It is simple economics. The ticket for you being overweight will not pay for the troopers time to weigh you. Have never heard of a non-commercial vehicle being weighed.

That's pretty much what I was thinking. $24/year for peace of mind seems like it'd be worth it. I just don't know if the people at my local AAA know what they're doing. None of them drive trucks and the person I was working with mentioned something about having to get a new title. Makes no sense as my title has my truck's actual capacities, not the registered weight limits. So we'll see how that works out.

Thanks for all the responses so far, guys. Feels good to finally be a commenting member of this great community!

I had to go look mine is at 5000 pounds as well but the unladen weight is listed at 3450 .

I know ever time I use the truck it is over weight .

Because of the Super springs it does not look like there is 1200 pounds in the bed
