The Shift Sense mod actually started an LLC and website dedicated to his product. And at the first sign of busy SHUT IT DOWN

I among others have $$$ in hand and have been turned away. Being told to check back. That's just crappy business practice.

As @Vbpiper said, I am not a huge shop. I do these after my full time regular job, as a hobby. Trust me, I'm the most impatient person ever. But what I don't like to do is take someone's $$$ before I have something in hand. A lot of businesses will do "pre-orders", "deposits" etc. mainly for some startup capital. I'd rather make the investment myself, and have them be available ASAP once they are modded. I am gearing up for larger production, as my Ultimate turn signals turned out to have more demand than I originally anticipated.
Enough of my rant! Carry on...

 

You snooze you lose. The Shift Sense has been for sale online for 3 weeks now. It's a new product. I'm sure a certain number of the devices were made to test the market. That's just good business sense. If you take time to read the thread about the Shift Sense you would have seen they are going to be taking orders again in a few day AND still offering the introductory price. But they don't have to sell to everyone, especially those who bash them on a public forum. I don't think your cannabis is working. Wound just a little tight for a Saturday morning

You're right...I'm really not that angry about it though...I can def see why it looks that way....but I'm really not...just being spoiled by life wanting to spend $$$ and my overpowering caffeine buzz got me ranting a tad....that's all

 

I think you may have missed the point. That "boring story" had nothing to do with volunteering products or services for free. It translates to: "If you don't like the way someone else is doing things, you always have the option to do it yourself."

I fully respect and appreciate what these small-shop innovators are doing for us by making their state of the art, ground-breaking products available for our trucks, which I sure as shit, could not accomplish on my own!

As for me, I'm gonna opt to stand by for the ordering to resume. I mean, by the time I could learn enough about Electronic Engineering to pull this off myself (let alone coming up with the front cash and putting in the endless hours of R&D needed), I will long ago have had one installed in mt truck and be happily down the road with it.

 

Amazing that those who chose to sit on the fence, and watch others purchase and test the items, then decide to purchase it themselves, complain about an out-of-stock situation. If you want something, grab it now, otherwise, you snooze you lose.

Not sure if you were aware, but ShiftSense is available to be ordered again, at the original introductory price.

 

Shift Sense Mod started an LLC for the same reason anyone running a side business should. To Limit their liability. If you purchase a product made by sadmrhappy and your truck burns to the ground, you can sue sadmrhappy and take everything he owns. If you buy something from sadmrhappy LLC, you can sue the LLC but you cant take my tacoma (unless it is owned by the LLC), all of my personal assets are protected. If you make any product or provide any service that could in any way potentially open yourself to a liability you should create an LLC to run it through.

its called being a good supplier. sure they could take "pre-orders" and not be able to give a definite ship date but then whiners like you would complain that their products haven't shipped yet. these are guys who are doing this for FUN, and for the most part BY HAND. the more people whine and moan the less fun it is for them and then the less likely we are to have them make more awesome mods for us.
