Just ordered isolators...how many drill bits do you think I'm going to need?

How much did your liners cost if you don't mind me asking and about how many feet did you use?

It was about $60 or so. I don't remember exactly how much I ordered. I just generously measured the full length of the spring pack and multiplied by 4. I did have about 1 1/2 foot extra. It's sold by the foot.

Do this. The springs are spring steel, which is hard to drill.

I think I used 2, but I'd grab 3 to be safe. A drill press is the way to go if you have access to one, hand drill is doable though

How much leaf spring tension/pressure are we talking about when we attempt to take apart these Dakars? Just want to make sure my clamps are up to the task, thanks.

Not too much, any c clamp big enough to fit the pack should be fine

I ordered mine locally, through a dealership, a few weeks ago and they look to be new production since there are isolators between all the leafs!

Yes, mine also did not come with the front rubber bushing....I was so happy to see this when they arrived!! Way to go ARB. I have the Dakar AAL so I will still need to drill and isolate those.

I think I found out why my Dakars are so squeaky....the bushings in the rear are moving around. They are also squeaking from the front as well. I ordered a new set of bushings for the front & rear from Wheelers.

We'll see if they continue to squeak after I replace the bushings.

New set of Dakars with isolators already installed. Added the aal but had it drilled and isolators put in before installing into the pack. Had to make a spacer (from plastic ice cream pail) for the center of the leafs as there are thin metal plates already also installed from ARB/OME.
I needed longer center pins (which I had already ordered) so I could install a pin collar for the 3* axle shim I'm putting in. The new pins are the perfect length for the added collar and aal. Damn leaf packs are so beefy now.

Had a local suspension shop drill holes and install Dorman leaf spring inserts last week. Today I installed the Dakar leaf pack and so far no squeaks and I wipe it stays this way.

Can someone take a picture of their installed Dakars utilizing their OEM Shackles. I'm trying to determine if my springs are moving around too much & if I have the hardware installed correctly.

FYI, in case anyone in the area is still looking, Rocky Mountain Spring here in the Springs just quoted me $5 per hold plus the cost of the inserts.

Has anyone found a shop in the Orange County/ Southbay LA area that can do the install for cheap?

@Dgibson529 Here is a thread dedicated to squeaky Dakars.
You may find some good ideas about your squeaks too.
