700lb 14in springs went on the icons today. Initial impressions are OUTSTANDING! The truck finally has zero rake and yet minimal preload. The ride is a little firmer but still Icon smooth. Nose dive while braking is reduced as well as lateral roll.

The sway bar also went back on today. My lady is really wanting to pick up some of the towing duties so I figure no reason to start her out in expert mode.

I'll get some pics of the preload rings tomorrow after the alignment.

Ohhhhhhh and tires finally happening next week:bananadance:

Holry Fawk I finally got different tires! I compromised with a smaller yet very aggressive and bad ass looking 265 75r16 C General X3. A little vibration as expected with a new MT. No perceived difference in power loss which makes me extremely happy to know that towing ability will be minimally affected. Also worth noting that balance beads were necessary to get these smoothed out.

The pictures don't do it justice but the red walls look good with inferno and the tire looks nice on stock OR wheels.

    VERY HAPPY with these:D:bananadance::transformer:

This monstrosity from the group buy also showed up today.
I held it up to the fender and my girl said "can't you put that ugly ass thing on your side of the truck?"

Snorkels...I definately love them but others.......not so much:pout:

Son of a beeswax! Thank god I actually decided to read the instructions before cutting crap up! This snorkel is for a second gen so looks like it's going to be a bit longer.

The right part came in last night and I gotta give it to ARBs customer service for making it right. I was gonna pay somebody to do this job for me since I was afraid to cut up my fender but fuck it.... go big or go home!

Welp it's done! I'm actually really glad I did it. Saved some $$ and the install wasn't too bad. I do think I actually blacked out after starting the first pilot hole! I also used extreme all weather outdoor 3m tap to afix the snorkel to the A-post. Fenders are fairly easily replaced, A post are a little more tricky!

The next mod will changing around my ditch lighting. The pods just aren't doing it for me with the snorkel on there and the outside hits the snorkel with the hood up. Wondering if I can make some Auxbeam 7 inchers work?
20170601_181651.jpg 20170601_181616.jpg 20170601_180939.jpg the fit of this is very nice and contours the body perfectly!

Dude, I wired up a set for my buddy on his tundra and they are legit! We did some night runs outside of our expo camp and I was thoroughly impressed.

Yeah I'm watching a few videos with them right now and they're ridiculous!
I don't know if my cheapskate genes will let me spend $400 per pod. :ballchain: I got some thinking to-do here....thanks allot haha

Ha ha, trust me, they are TOTALLY worth it. Yes, expensive but the output is worth it and will easily provide you with all the light you need and then some

I'm definately looking! I am wondering if something smaller might be better with this behemoth snorkel. I saw a couple trucks at the expo with ditch pods that were extremely low profile. They had a finned yellowish anodized billet aluminum housing. They were probably no more than an inch deep. I couldn't find any owners to ask what they were. Any clue what I'm talking about here :notsure:

Perhaps KC. I know they have something similar to that. Either that or some of those morimoto pods.

Of course, what you always could do is just go down to SDHQ and take a look at what they've got. Pretty much everything in stock and on display for the top 3 light brands. At least then you can get an idea of scale and how they'd work with the snorkel

I think I might have to. I was thinking I was just gonna slap the brightest possible light that would fit in there but that cowel line is way too busy with the snorkel.
I think sacrificing some light for looks is the direction I'm heading.
    Maybe the BD s2
    540001_t.jpg
I think appearance wise these Vision X Solo Solstice would be to my liking. 2.15" diameter
    XIL-SP120_web.png

Any other similar pods you recommend looking for at SDHQ?
