    Update:

Been about 8k miles so far, still have tons of tread and still very pleased with the tires. Rotating them every oil change, and feel like I have tons of life left in them.

Anyone had both the Maxx's and Pro's? How do they compare? Road noise similar?

I've got 60,000 on my Maxx's, debating switching to the Pro's.

wow thats pretty impressive mileage on the Maxx's. Theoretically the Pros should be louder, the old STTs were fairly quiet for a MT

won't get 60,000 out of the pros, but road noise on the pros is quiet compared to other MTs

Why is that? Tread seems almost the same as the ST Maxx other than the sidewall.

Why would they theoretically be louder than the ST Maxx? Looks to be the same tire with a different sidewall.

STT Pros are a mud terrain, ST Maxx are an all terrain. They will not wear the same.

This I did not know... never seen the Maxx's listed as an all terrain. Both just list M+S rated. Per their site the only tire they mention mud on is the MTP. Spec's look identical, same weight.

Have you had or do you have either, or are you just speculating? I've had the maxx's for 60K and they seem like a mud tire to me.

I got about 30k out of my STT Pros (IMO good for an MT), although I off road quite a bit. They probably had about 10k more left of life in them.

    Edit: Check the OP lol

STT Pros are what replaced the STTs

ST Maxx are just an aggressive all terrain kind of like the Toyo RTs

From Copper's store on Amazon, looks like every where I go it's conflicting info. Most tire sites say the ST Maxx is a mud terrain and the Pro's list reduced road noise. Copper's site doesn't designate either as an AT or MT. I was under the impression before I checked on here that the Pro's were an improved version of the ST Maxx and had a different tread design for less road noise. I'm not discounting the fact amazon could have screwed the description up but still it's not clear if their both MT's or what.

I'd prefer the Pro but I don't want more road noise than my ST Maxx's, which were quiet initially but got pretty loud with time. I don't want a constant humm when their brand new, as they wear is expected.

The STT Pro is clearly a meatier tire than the ST Maxx, easily seen in the pics and even more in person. They did away with the basic STT which is replaced by the STT Pro. The ST Maxx is just a really aggressive All Terrain. Look up Goodyear Duratracs, they are similar in the fact that they are an aggressive all terrain. Could also post in here to get more feedback https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/show-off-your-cooper-st-maxx.346956/

In the pics, see how much tighter the tread is on the ST Maxx compared to the pros?

Likely another set of ST Maxx's, I've got ZERO complaints. Next set will be pro's once I get this truck off the road and it's not my daily commuter.
