I'm paying for the work at moms yesterday. Especially the crab crawl in attic towards soffit with knees balanced on rafters trying to pull out water lines.

I can understand being stuck in a particular geographic place. Work. Family etc.
I'd be in blue Ridge mountains if mom wasn't around.
I'm trying hard to get moms place for her to enjoy. Going to have to hire someone to pack and move stuff. I've been trying to break her hoarding but for someone that grew up in and after depression and made clothes from potato sacks it's hard .

Good morning. Got up and took the dog out as the sun was just coming up. My grass is getting so long there were 2 deer browsing in the front yard. More rain today ugh.

Best year shooting yet and yesterday was the best of that despite the rain. In the 90% now. But will keep my daytime job LOL.

Holy crap more than 30 years later vividly remembering shooting 3" 12 ga. slugs sighting in a shotgun for deer season. They are expensive and come in a box of 5. Shot 4 of them and said screw this and gave the rest away. Ouch! They have as much recoil as an elephant gun when measuring foot lbs. of energy.

Glad the rangefinder is working out and reflection works well on it!

 Can't even use it?! I'm not even going to ask or say much on that. But damn I'm thinking your not moving far enough away Chuck. Just saying...

Oh screw that used to do all that too. Now I will take this over that any day of the week. Even if I have to walk to the outhouse.

Highly recommend the pop up ones over the connector tube erector tube sets. They take forever to put together. Add a small little buddy heater and in the morning your shitting in high cotton. Well maybe not quite but close ;) I use a small cedar pallet for flooring when taking a shower, just watch your ground pitch for runoff. And when it freezes you have an ice skating rink on that side of the tent but hard to beat a warm shower in the middle of the woods. And happiness is a warm crapper. I color matched mine to my tent also LOL.

Used one of those for years, I put cat litter in the plastic bucket to help with the smell.

Couple of years ago had a bear try to get into my off road trailer with the dog and I 10 feet away in the tent. Dog went nuts and thought he was going to break through the tent. Bear didn't give a damn and moved the trailer at least 5 feet trying to get into it. Trying to handle the dog and flashlight to get to the gun and load it was an exercise in futility. Fun times.

    MOOOOOSE Sighting!!

I have one move left in me and it is back to the Blue Ridge Mountains. Well except for wherever my son decides to dump my ashes.

I understand where your coming from with the hoarding Kevin, When my MIL passed and we had to clean out the house :annoyed::eek::facepalm: we used 4 20 yard dumpsters and 2 30 yard dumpsters full of junk she had accumulated over the years. Most of it was in the basement and ruined because of mold and mildew. Ended up selling the house "as is" at a much lower price then market value so we didn't have to do remediation for the mold issue.

You know, since you're moving anyway, just go a few more miles east and you won't have to worry about all that gun stuff, gas is cheaper, the cost of living is cheaper, and you can fully realize just how bad those roads really are.

I hear you. My parents are still alive. They've lived in the same house that my father finished building in 1964. It was chock full until 3 years ago. While they were away, a water pipe sprung a leak under the kitchen sink and sprayed water for 3 weeks before I caught it. Mold out the wazoo in the basement. Insurance cleaned it up, and in doing so, emptied the basement of crap. Me and my sisters are actually thankful as it helped us by clearing out the 'stuff'...

    Hi @Ken

Hey @Chief ... we've taken 4 moose in the last 6 years with the 1987 Model 870 pump gun with slug barrel shooting 3 inch slugs. ;)

Gun was one of my wife's retirement (from active duty) gifts to me.

She may think I'm being rude at times but I just don't look at mom when I say certain things. I know she's boiling inside but without eye contact makes me feel not as bad.
