4runner all the way, if I didn't need a bed I'd still be in mine. Best vehicle I've ever owned. IMG_2275.jpgIMG_2274.jpg

What did the wife say she wants? It would probably get you a better results than asking a bunch of strangers (probably all male) on the internet. That's like asking us what purse, shoes or clothes you should buy her.

I say it would depend on how long & hard you drive your vehicles OP. If you only keep them 5 years or less, the Highlander should be fine for that and more.
Hell even the Ford Explorer will last that long without the wheels falling off, well maybe, but just be ready to make constant trips and re-calls with the Ford for that time under warranty.

But if you looking for a keeper 10+ years more, the T4R is the ultimate.
My wife is a keeper and so are her vehicles. She’ll drive them till I put my foot down and say no more, so when the highlander first came out she wanted one and I said no, those are fwd and anything I have to do on them is a pita and we walked off.

Then the 4th gen 4R came out, and she gave it the thumbs up , and drove it until I had to yank it from her. I offered a Benz, Rover, Highlander or anything that had better toys, bells, whistles, amenities, safety tech and such but all she wanted was another trusty hard riding SR5 T4R, so I got her a limited because of the better seats and she begrudgingly accepted it.

Now finally she’s grown to love the new one, but still misses the old one and I have to hear about it and live with it as it was still running like new. And to think I really wanted to try the Benz.
But I can only put my foot down so far, and that’s a good thing lolo!

    Cheers!
