Removable wheel trim rings? (Fake Bead Locks)

I searched and couldn't find an answer but whats the advantages/disadvantages of having removable trim rings/fake beadlocks on your wheels? Which manufacturers actually have removable beadlocks?

Omf who converts wheels to simulock, says there's an advantage to their conversion as it stiffens the wheel.

I did it because I'm running an 18 and I wanted to make the wheel center look smaller

 

Advantage, bang up the outer ring and replace as want/need.

Disadvantage. Cost, possible balance issues, maintenance.

Manufactures, OMF $$$, level 8 was mentioned earlier, not sure of others.

Would be nice if it was a more common feature, I wouldn't mind having removeable fake Beadlock rings, mostly because I can run one set of rims, if I rock rash them more than I intended than swap out. Could even run one set for trail and one for street. If it's cheaper than having 2 sets of rims.

 

I have them on my trd bronze, just wish it was a better material to bash
