10 years in on a goodman condenser unit. Had to replace a cap last year. Its been a great unit with no complicated parts.

Had to replace a Armana control board for the furnace this winter.

My Grandma's 2004 Goodman 3.5-ton 10 SEER heat pump came with the house when she bought it in 2006. The house originallly had a York Stellar Series heat pump. The Goodman died in the summer of 2015 and she had it replaced with a Carrier 2-stage heat pump.

I can't remember about the shape, but yes it was a heat pump. I remember seeing on the service records that the compressor and accumulator and pretty much every other internal was replaced, but as far as I remember the cage was original, about to fall apart, but original. The a/h side looked immaculate for its age, minor corrosion on the coil and the blower was very clean.

The previous unit was a trane heat pump. What a POS with expensive parts.

Heat pumps a pointless here in Ca, natural gas is cheaper than power. Was glad to swap it out to a gas furnace.

"Round One" was the official name. They were manufactured from the late 1960s-early 1970s until 1988.

Oh I know what you're talking about, I've taken a few out. I just remember the date since their serial numbers haven't changed (from what I've seen at least). First two-week second two-year. I've only been in the trade for 5yrs, mostly install.

You know you have a good relationship with your FEMALE boss when you can fart in front of her and all she says is "Goddamn it, Charlie! Don't follow me upstairs after doing that!"

This happened at the bar where I work sometime in 2016. I accidentally farted in the lobby, and my friend (a bartender named Gary) happened to be right there. He's like "Aw, dude!" My boss, who is upstairs, overhears this and is like "What?"

Gary's like "Charlie just ripped ass!"

I shout up the stairs, "It was an accident!"

I then proceed to head upstairs, and well, I began this post with what my boss said...

How is a heat pump running in heat mode when it's below forty degrees like a politician?

They just don't make Tranes like they used to!

This beast was installed at my friend's neighbor's house when the house was built in 1964. Yes, I had permission to film it. It died in the summer of 2013 (I made this video in 2012)...

On our basic units they run constant (including my own). Our inverter drive units do well. A lot of our houses are rentals so they don't want anything fancy and usually leave the heat at 50-55 in the winter.

Been in the HVAC business for 15 years and have installed many Goodman systems along with other major brands. Goodman is as good as any in my opinion, just like cars, some are good some not.

I love making up wise-ass Latin names for people and things...

Here's one I came up with recently:

    "Drunkus Removus"

Better known as the Common North American Nightclub Bouncer!

And the drunk old asshole who hit my Tacoma in October 2015...

    Flatulus Geriatricus Intoxicus

Better known as the Drunk Old Fart!
