You guys are keeping me honest! Haha - I'm in the process of buying a house so I haven't had any free time lately. But that should be wrapping up this weekend, so - let's do it!

First page update with the requests I've received in this thread and via messages - if you sent a request, make sure I have your order listed correctly:

    1. @Ulysiss - bead blasted letters
    2. @flyfisher4822 - satin black powdercoated backing
    3. @cromad - bead blasted letters
    4. @Early B. - light machine gray powdercoated letters and black backing
    5. @KK1849 - bead blasted letters

I need 10 orders to do another production run so send me a message or reply to this thread if you're interested! From there, it takes me about 2 weeks to receive the parts, beadblast, powdercoat, and ship.

do the letters come attached to the backing already? would be cool if it was all one piece when I get it!

I might be in for a set, but do you have any pictures of the different colors? I have a MGM truck with a soon to be color matched satoshi and black powdercoat mesh

I'm interested in white powder coated letters with the satin black backing. How are the letters attached to the backing?

Could you possibly add the black backing to my order?

I think I'm interested. But I don't see pics of the bead blasted vs plain aluminum. Do those exist somewhere. I'm trying to decide which look I like better.

    Thanks

The raw aluminum letters have scratches and overspray (bottom left corner on the "T") from the waterjet cutter. This is what all the letters look like when I received them. These scratches aren't noticeable after a couple layers of paint, if that's what you're planning on doing with them. I always recommend giving it a once-over with a high-grit sandpaper (maybe 320 or 400 grit).

    Also raw aluminum:

After beadblasting they have an even matte finish. They look great like this (the set on my truck are just beadblasted, no painting or powdercoat). It also gives a nice surface for paint or powdercoat to adhere too. All sets that I powdercoat get the beadblasted treatment first.

    Hope that helps!

Sorry for the confusion guys. I thought about selling them as one-piece but I couldn't figure out a mount that would be universal for all mesh/grill patterns. If you buy the OEM plastic Landcruiser emblem it comes with snap-in tabs that you'd end up cutting off anyway. The most common mounting method I've seen is heavy-duty outdoor 3M/Gorilla mounting tape.

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B019HT1U9...t=&hvlocphy=9028817&hvtargid=pla-311820756231

If you want really want me too, I could buy a roll of that tape mount the letters to the backing and charge you a couple extra bucks. It would still be up to you on how to mount them to your grill. Just let me know!

I chose to use screws and other guys have welded them directly to their grill. Since every grill is slightly different, I'm leaving it up to you guys to mount them.

@Redmann - Here's a sample of the powdercoating colors I have. Not shown are high-gloss black and bright right, I don't have sample of those at the moment. If you want the letters to pop, I'd go with white. If you want it to match MGM, I'd recommend spray-painting the letters and getting a satin black backing.

@Taco1999 - I'll add you to the list! Thanks

I don't really have a place for these on my truck, but they're very cool.

Is there a preferred method for attaching the letters to the backing plate? I may be in for a satin black backing plate and bead blasted letters.

Cool - I'll add you to the list (no deposit necessary) just so we can kick off this production run. I don't have personal experience with it, but heavy duty mounting tape (Gorilla or 3M) has been working well for a lot of guys.

I'll be out of town this weekend so I'll set a deadline to order for Tuesday, June 6. I will place the order first thing Wednesday morning so send me a PM or reply in this thread to get on the list!

I would love to get on the list for this production run as well! I'd like a white powder coated emblem on the black single piece backing. Please let me know what I need to do to get you paid and get you my address for shipping. Thanks!
