It has been fine. I have only towed it on trips of under 2 hours so far but for me I haven't had any issues. I run with a weight distribution hitch, sway bar, and have firestone air bags. You also want to make sure that you inflate your tires correctly. I run mine at 45psi when towing.

I do keep an eye on tire inflation on truck and trailer and I do have Firestone bags. They really make a big difference. Before I had them, my truck was pointing straight up in the air. With them, no issues. Good news, thank you!

So here is the new set up. 2015 taco. 6 cylinder 4.0 liter. TRD sport with tow pacakage. Camper is 3075lbs dry weight. As it sits in this picture it is around 3500lbs. It towed without hesitation. It even accelerates uphill ! No big mountains but some good hills. It is a little bouncy driving back roads. I did decide Im going to put hellwig airbags on it in a couple weeks.

I've not heard of Hellwig airbags. I've got Firestone and love them.

No I'm not. I pull an 18' Big Tex equipment trailer with only a bunch of ATVs on it and an enclosed trailer. Nothing too heavy at this point. What I like about the bags is that fact that it levels out the truck when the load is not distributed very well on the trailer (tongue heavy). I've even bottomed out in the past prior to installing the Firestone bags.

I had a rpod 173t, but my family outgrew it so we bought the Wolf Pup last summer. It has more storage and bunks for the kids yet
still small enough to be easily towed. So far we're pretty happy with it.

We made it out to the Alvord Desert this weekend. The Tacoma pulled the trailer with no problem at all. Got about 16.5 mpg too!

I looked at the 245, Awesome layout!! love the double bunk and walk around bed, but was a little bigger than I was willing to manouver around and pull up hills... I live in the mountains, not huge but lots of hills to pass when camping... tried to stay light but still nice... passed over some other models like the Jayco and the clipper...

We originally looked at Wolf Pups but had time, went to the boston show and saw a different apex and the weight and was like yup we are getting an Apex. Cost a little more but we got a lot more. Hills around here aren't typically bad but I am planning a fan cooler install on the trans cooler for traffic.
