    2.5" lift king/total chaos Skids sliders rear tire swing
    I am now between a tundra and ls I want to off-road it harder than the 4cyl will allow when I'm loaded up so I'm thinking the lightweight ls could be the best bet

    Because that is starting to feel like a bandaid on a bullet wound with the more I add to the truck the 2.7 only has so many power options and it takes almost as much as a full ls swap to even start pushing stock ls power and if it's that turboed out reliability is gone... I'm planning on keeping my first gen(favorite tacoma body to date) forever it has a new frame and I owe nothing on it in the next six months I plan on seriously overhauling it so it doesn't just survive my next Moab trip but absolutely slays it.. with my current armor and fully loaded with my minimal camp gear it definitely struggles on the more vertical highways. When in 4low it's okay although some of the sections I wish I had more torque.. it's also transitioning away from being my daily

    Rather ironic. I thought I misread the headline when I saw it.

    What about a supercharger? Gives you more of that low end torque without waiting for the turbo to spool. That way you also have the increased (I laughed writing this) mileage. Roots style superchargers can help in a situation like yours, with good gearing, but I will concede that there is no replacement for displacement in this case

    Jack @Jcyr if you ask me, do a 3.4L swap with a supercharger. It's pretty close to LS power and a much easier swap! Lighter than an iron LS motor to which accounts for a lot when wheeling plus it keeps it all Toy powered and super reliable. .

    That and gears/lockers. Regearing does more than band-aid a problem, it fixes the ratios that your transmission was designed to use. Remember you changed your final drive ratio when you put on larger tires

    :luvya: yea, yea. I wish I could get 5.29's for the front but they only make them for the rear. So it looks like 4.88's for gears

    Stock 4.10's with 33x12.5x17 Grabber AT2's (62lbs each) with Fuel Trophy 17x8.5 wheels (21lbs each). Along with front and rear steel plate bumpers and bolt on sliders

    I've got less than a year til it's paid off. I'm also looking at getting a DD again, so there is always that option. But I do not have the fab and welding skills to do it myself or the tools necessary.
