It was frustrating. I had put in a little more beads than recommeded. I went to the next size up for my tire size.

I wish more places in Hawaii offer road force balancing. I think there's like 2 places here, and one of them won't balance my 315's because they said they are too big. smh. The other charges, iirc, $50 per tire.
I think a lot of it has to do with the person that is doing the balancing.

Tire balancing can be frustrating for sure. That's what drew me to the beads. For whatever reason, my wheels sling off wheel weights like crazy, and I was constantly having to replace them. It's been a good 9k miles with the beads for me. Fingers crossed it lasts.

Not going to lie, that sucks....and hard. I paid $15 each to have mine road force balanced.

Yup, sucks. I took my chances with having an "offroad" shop balance them, and thank god, they had no trouble doing that. And thankfully I didn't just pay the $50 per tire for my five tires to get road forced.
If it were $15 per tire, It would have been a no-brainer.

Would it be very simple to add the beads to the tire before mounting and then mount, or do you have to mount the tire first and then break the bead to add them?

The offroad beads have to be added before mounting the tire. The tiny car beads can be added through the valve stem but iirc, you need a valve stem filter or some crap like that. I would go with the offroad beads.

I've always added them during the mounting process just before inflating the tire to set the bead.

    Update on my bead experience...

I ran 8oz. Of the off-road beads in each of my 255/86/16 km2 on 2nd gen 16" alloy wheels for 10k miles. They performed great

I recently swapped the tires over to a set of used wheels I got from a buddy. The wheels have proper backspacing, allowing me to ditch my wheels spacers.

During the swap, three of the four went flawlessly. No beads were spilled. Unfortunately, several beads were spilled on the last tire. I removed the beads, measured, and added what was missing.

Should be good, right? Wrong. The tires will not balance above 45-50 mph. It's not death wobble bad, but bad enough it's uncomfortable. I assume the wheels themselves are out of balance.

I plan to remove the beads and have them spin balanced. I'll keep the beads to supplement the wheels weights if needed.

I have used lots of balance beads in well over 200 motorcycle tires and have only had one complaint. I quit using Dyna Beads and switched to Counter Act tempered glass Teflon coated beads. I can get them for about 1/4 the price of Dyna Beads.

I have 16" methods on 265/75R16 wild peak Standard loads, how many ounces should I use in each tire and should I remove all wheel weights from the wheels?

For you guys using these beads, should they be used in addition to standard wheel weights or on their own? The tire shop installing my tires wants to use them, but I didn't know if it's an all or nothing type of deal. I'd prefer having the tires road forced and balanced traditionally, then add some beads to fine tune, but I don't know much (if anything) about these in that application. 285/75/16 all terrain tires.

The should be used by themselves. Just get the appropriate weight of beads and it should be good. There is a reference chart on their website but that size of tire will be 6oz or 8oz. There are regular beads and bigger size ones for off-road tires.

In my personal experience I just added 4 ounces to each wheel and left the wheel weights on where they were. Everything was smooth so I was happy. In the event that there was still a vibration I was planning on crawling underneath my truck and scraping the existing wheel weights off but that wasn't necessary.

I think they added 1-2 oz per wheel then did the beads. I wasn't really happy with the results, figured it was best to go all or nothing for an application like this. I'm taking it back today and "asking" for them to check it via road force, rotate tires if needed, and rebalance.

I just ordered 5-8oz pouches of the offroad beads for my truck, but i don't have a high lift to break the bead to add the beads. I use a big red 8 ton bottle jack. Any alternative recommendations on how to break the beads? I've watched a couple videos of guys adding it through the valve stem.

They won't go through TPMS sensors very well just FYI.

Also I have gone back on my balance bead opinions, the ended up being not compatible with my tires and would stick to the insides and lead to imbalances and vibes.

Airsoft beads were better than the Dynabeads but you need a LOT and they can be noisy.

I went back to roadforce and lead sticky back weights.

What about your tires made them incompatible? I lose the stick on weights constantly, and I feel like each time I rotate my tires, I need to get them rebalanced. I'm hoping this solves my frustration but not if my General Grabbers are not compatible.

I'm not sure on a specific scientific level but the beads decided to clump and cling to the internal carcass instead of distribute as appropriate. I think that my tire compound was just too soft (perhaps too much silica?) BFG KO2 and the beads embedded themselves through centripetal force and couldn't release their covalent bonds.
