Picked this up at the Spring 2017 Raceway Park Swap Meet (April 29th, 2017). It's a model of 1993 Chevrolet C1500 extended-cab long-box 2WD in Victory Red. I used to have a teal green one as a kid, but that's long gone.

I was getting ready to leave when I saw this guy selling model vehicles, and I saw a teal green truck, like the one I used to have, on display. Problem is I'd only brought enough cash to pay admission and eat. I only had two dollars left by this point. I did have my credit card and the guy took credit cards, but the iPad-based system he used charged massive fees that made it near impossible to make a profit on transactions under about $100. I was heartbroken, not about to use some privately-run ATM that would charge me a withdrawal fee, and was about to leave...

The guy running the stand must have been touched by my story of how I'd had a similar truck as a kid, because he just let me have a brand new still-in-the-box example in exchange for "whatever I had in my wallet" (a mere $2)!

    June 15th, 2012:

I cannot believe this was almost 5 years ago! This foreclosed (and thus long-vacant by June 2012) home was right around the corner from my parents' old house. Curiosity got the best of me and I decided to stop and take a closer look. This house was in quite a state of disrepair, and the people who lived in the house next door thought I was code enforcement. They were rather disappointed that I was not code enforcement, as they were sick of living next to what was at the time an eyesore. The good news: These were the only people who would have called the cops on me, and now that they not only knew who I was and what I was doing, but had no problem with me wandering around taking pictures; I was free to, well, wander around and take pictures!

And, of course, the central air...
    2OldHeatPumps 014.jpg

Both of these are heat pumps. The grayish-colored unit on the right is a 1986 Trane XL1200 Weatherton Heat Pump (2 tons/24,000 BTUs) and the tan-colored unit on the left is a 1970s General Electric Weathertron Heat Pump (3 tons/36,000 BTUs):
    2OldHeatPumps 015.jpg

Like I said, I just found the house on Zillow, and according to Zillow's records it was built in 1969. The description on Zillow also says that the house has forced air heat. In 1969, houses in Southeastern Pennsylvania just did not come with heat pumps as a primary heat source. Most new houses built in this area the late 1960s had either natural gas or oil heat. Many had hot water baseboard, but a few had forced hot air. The oldest house I've ever seen in this area, that had central A/C installed at the time of construction, was built in 1964. The original Trane air-conditioner lasted an amazing 49 years!

Anyway, obviously both of these heat pumps are much newer than the house at which they are installed. I am looking at a picture of the basement on Zillow right now, and I can see the indoor unit for the downstairs. It looks like an oil furnace, but according to Zillow the house has gas heat. The GE is a 3-ton and the Trane is a 2-ton. The first floor typically has a larger unit, so I'm 99% sure the GE is for the first floor.

The house more than likely did not originally have central A/C, and the GE heat pump was probably installed during the 1970s energy crisis. The 2nd floor was more than likely unfinished when the house was built. The Trane is from 1986, so that's more than likely when the 2nd floor was finished. The 2nd floor has just a heat pump because to do a second gas furnace they would have had to install it in the basement and run the ductwork up to the second floor. With a heat pump, they just put the indoor unit upstairs and put the ductwork in the ceiling.

Also, I have no idea when the pictures on the Zillow page were taken, but seriously, 1980 called and it wants the inside of it's house back! Bits and pieces of the house have been updated, but the house as a whole looks like it hasn't gotten a major overhaul in close to 40 years. The electricity was obviously on when the pictures were taken, since there are lights on in the pictures. The blades on at least three of the ceiling fans are actually sagging, and the carpet is partially ripped up in one room. The last time I drove past the place, it looked like someone had moved in, but according to records on Zillow it still seems to be foreclosed/bank-owned. If I ever win the lottery or somehow get rich and this house is still available, I'll buy it outright and do a no-expense-spared renovation. It's got 4 bedrooms and has over 4,400 square feet so there's plenty of space to raise a family!

That looks like a good find - you don't see many homes in that state of abandonment in the D-town area.

Issues with my Tacoma that still need to be addressed as of May 22nd, 2017:

    1. Driver's side mirror (because the one I ordered online shakes and vibrates; Gonna just get a brand new one from the dealer)
    2. Spare tire (because the stock 15-incher won't fit my truck with the spacers installed; Gonna get a 16-inch 5-lug Ford Ranger steelie)
    3. Steering column casing (Still ever-so-slightly out of alignment since I got the intermittent wipers installed; Probably just gonna get a new one of these too)
    4. Radio antenna (Bent by drunk person at the bar where I work)

Issues that I probably won't bother to address:

    1. Tear in fabric on driver's side of bench seat
    2. Busted headlight tab (right side)

I wanted a backup camera in my truck, so replaced my single-DIN Pioneer head unit with a Sony touch-screen double-DIN head unit.

    My head unit:
    https://www.crutchfield.com/p_158XAV650B/Sony-XAV-W650BT.html?tp=20217

I'd say the Sony works as intended roughly 97-98% of the time.

    Issues:
    1. My favorite radio station (93.3 WMMR) does not get very good reception in areas where my Pioneer, and the radios in other vehicles, get decent to great reception.
    2. Unit will literally "crash" at random when I'm listening to my iPod, as in it will shut off completely and reboot itself.
    3. iPod will crash and have to reboot at random.
    4. Artists, songs, and playlists on iPod get "melded" together. If I'm listening to one artist and decide I want to listen to another one, it will literally combine one song with another artist's list of songs. Example: If I'm listening to Billy Joel and want to listen Tim McGraw, but I don't select the song at just the right moment, it will start playing whatever is after Billy Joel and that song will mysteriously become part of Tim McGraw. When this happens, I have to go back to the main menu and then go back into my playlist again.
    5. Backup camera can be slow to respond at times.
    6. Unit will randomly show the "Safety screen" where I have to hit "AGREE" in order to access all functions of the head unit. This can be easily (and quite quickly) be overridden by shifting into reverse and activating the backup camera.

Overall, I'm satisfied with the unit, but it's performance in certain areas is lackluster. Right now, it works and I just don't feel like dishing out another $200-$300 for a new head unit. If it breaks, I have a warranty through Crutchfield.

    What do you guys think?

Send it back, defective. What's weird is I would never expect this from a Sony product.

Seconded. Claim your warranty before it's too late. My kenwood doubledin I used to have finally kicked the bucket beginning of last year. Started having glitches and if you touched the side of the screen it would completely shut off. It was 6-7 years old so I threw it in the trash and popped the factory radio back in lol. Then added the GTA car kit Bluetooth with aux. works pretty good.
