Did not know this, my bad. I'm connected direct to battery posts of a dual battery set. So just place a breaker between POS post and the Red cable?

I have the 200A circuit breaker I posted a few pages back as per the ComeUp recommendation. I would be prepared to jumper across the breaker if you get in a real sticky situation. The main thing is to watch battery temperatures. If I got in a situation where the recovery was critical I might want to run the winch past what the breaker will allow.

I know that many do not use a breaker since you leave some capacity on the table but it prevents you from unintentionally doing damage to the battery/wiring/winch.

Thanks you for the information. Right now I'm still trying to decide between the ComeUp Seal 9.5s and the Superwinch Talon 9.5SR....honestly, it's back and forth everyday.

Are you wanting a COMEUP winch but it's a bit out of your budget? Now there's a more budget friendly option to get some of our most popular SEAL Series winches. Introducing the "NAKED" models of the SEAL 9.5n, SEAL 12.5n, and SEAL 9.5ni!

Same top quality winch, same industry leading 8 year warranty, at a lower price! Many customers like to change out the fairlead or winch hook for an aftermarket thimble or other winch "hook", and some like to change the synthetic rope to match their rig, or maybe they just want to upgrade their winch and already have a rope, fairlead and thimble they'd like to use. Now you can get the Naked ComeUp winch without a rope, fairlead and hook so you can use your existing ones, or add the aftermarket ones of your choice.
Pricing and specs are now on the website.

We have a simple new product to protect your winch rope and hawse fairlead. If you use a hook on you winch this an excellent way to protect your components. Rope Stopper. Pricing will be announced soon once it is finalized.

Good news for first gen Tacoma drivers with ARB front bumpers! Our Seal Gen2 winches are a direct bolt-on application for these winches. No modification necessary unless you want to extend the control module wires depending on where you want to locate the control box.

SEMA 2017 is underway and our booth is showing off some killer new winches. Need a faster winch? How about 3x 7hp motors, Cerberus is a hot new competition winch? We're also showing our 5000si utility winch and the rest of our SEAL series vehicle recovery winches.

Hasn't been any activity here in some time. Are people happy with their comeup winches? I'm thinking of adding a winch and my local shop guy ( mule expedition ) recommended comeup and says he uses it on his own truck. I'd never heard of it before since warn and smittybilt seem to dominate popular opinion but comeup looks like a great product.

I'm torn between Warn and Comeup. I think Comeup is generally considered in the same league as Warn and both are head and shoulders above Smittybilt.

I don't know about Comeup but don't forget Superwinch. They make some great winchs and its an American company.

I honestly don't know why they don't get mentioned on this site more often

Superwinch has lots of parts made overseas. Yeah it’s an American company but not exactly a “made in USA” product.
That said, there are very few companies out there that aren’t using overseas parts or manufacturing and honestly it doesn’t really matter anymore in terms of quality. It all comes down to what the company is willing to pay for. Even
Chinese stuff. If a company is willing to pay for quality parts/materials/manufacturing you can get total top tier stuff. But that’s beside the point.

I’m extremely happy with my ComeUp Winch! I’ve had two now after decades of Warn ownership. ComeUp makes excellent products that are proven and used all over the world. Mine have been 100% reliable and sorry Smittybuilt users, SB isn’t in the same league. Personally I don’t think a winch is something to buy on the cheap. It’s a tool that can literally be the difference of life or death. For most it won’t be that serious but when you need a winch you don’t want to wonder if your cheap one is going to work or not.
When I bought mine, I figured if Arctic Trucks trusts Comeup to be the winch they use on all of their builds to make it to the north and south poles and other harsh locations it will be a winch I can have total confidence in. It’s never let me down.

Green light is on on the controller but winch would not turn. After unplug red cable from battery and plug back in it work but again stop working in 3 minutes. Any idea why ?? Is there something that is shorting our ??
