Not sure if I got ripped off or not, how much do you think these tires/oem sport wheels are worth?

    Tires are Gislaved Nordfrost 100 265/65R17 116T

    Wheels have TPMS in them

The guy I bought them off claims the tires have under 10k. Under 20k on the wheels.
For the wheels it doesn't really matter I suppose because they already have some minor scratches/chips in them from offroading.

When I sold my Off Road wheels with center caps, no TPMS, w/lug nuts and tires(tires were going to be scrapped) I got $175US the wheels were in good condition with only minor scratches. I would consider $50min-$75max each wheel maybe $200 for TPMS and if you plan on using those tires $25-50 each all in US dollars. You didn't get ripped off but you didn't get a steal of a deal. 200$ give or take seems like a fair price for the wheels depending on condition.

How much do you think the tires are worth?

I would say tires are worth another 200 or so....400 bucks would have been fair for the set..500 would have been ok too at top dollar. Everyone makes spur of the moment buys...god knows I have!

I was mainly just looking to replace my old bubbled, corroded sport wheels and had been looking for months on craigslist. So when I saw these I guess I tunneled in a little bit.

Are you saying 500$ at top for in american dollars or canadian?

How much would you add for TPMS, which was included?

No clue...I would just use mine...and have the tire place put them in....doesn't the dealership charge to program those?

You got snow tires and TPMS with wheels all assembled in decent shape. You thought it was fair and didn't haggle any with the seller during the moment of purchase.

Enjoy them and get your money's worth from your $750 CAD.

I mainly wanted my truck to look nicer because my old wheels looked like shit so the TPMS isn't a big deal for me. I have heard it costs money to program them too.

    Heres my old ones IMG_3481.jpg

So it is a great improvement, I was looking on CL for over a month too, probably why I was quick to hop on the deal.

    Yea sevin youre probably right..

You can't compare the US market to the Canadian market and region to region within the respective countries for that matter.

I sold my unblemished Sport wheels (28K kms) and Cooper AT3's 275/65/17's (48K) kms on them (without sensors) for $750 CAD a few years back. So...

Yeah I suppose that's true. I live in Vancouver and we usually do get snow plus we have a lot of locals mountains which I do go up to do some snowboarding. I figured I was at least getting a decent deal in the tires.

Aside from the wheels I was starting to question whether the 10000KM on these tires was accurate or not, maybe it is. I measured them and they have 8/32", maybe 9/32". He called them all seasons but based on the tread pattern they look like non studded winter tires.

I'll probably just have the wheels taken off and put into my current tires and store these tires until winter.

Is there anything I can do about the chips/scratches? I am a little worried that over the years areas like that will be the first areas to develop corrosion like there is on my old wheels.

I asked a local wheel repair place about repairing both sets of wheels, he said it'd be 600$ to totally redo my corroded/bubbled wheels. Then 75$ a wheel to fix the chips/scratches on these newer ones. At 75$ a wheel I think I'd rather just live with the scratches/chips instead of adding to the money I've already spent.

Maybe I could do it myself, I've checked out some videos and read some threads. Seems like with some bondo, sandpaper, some different sprays, the damage could be fixed. If I do go that way I could just practice on my older wheels and if I have success do it on the newer ones.

I've also checked a lot of threads on this site but couldn't find any specific ones going through the repairs, just mostly people saying sandblast and repaint.

I sold mine that were in MINT condition with 80-90% 265/65/17 dunflops for $180 U.S. A guy drove 300+ miles round trip to get them. o_O

EDIT: no tpms since my truck doesn't have that nonsense

You sold your mint condition wheels and almost new tires for 180$ eh, that seems pretty low priced...lucky for that guy I suppose

I think you did fine. I usually pay around that just for tires.

You got tires, wheels and sensors in one shot and you don't have to go to the tire shop to get everything changed around.

Hint: if you leave the old tires aired up with the sensors stored near where you park your truck, you might be able to fool the TPMS ECU into not turning on the light. It doesn't know that the tires/wheels are not on the truck. This can be hit or miss on some vehicles.

I deleted the TPMS system on my 2nd gen Tundra. I don't worry about it. The TPMS is not a safety feature, its an economy feature. I spend lots of money on tires, I'll monitor mine the old fashioned way.
