Well, looks like I've got to drive the racecar today. Damn Runner has eaten 2 brand new wheel studs in 2 weeks so I am ordering ARP replacements.

 

Wheel hub issues? Had that happen on a previous rig and had to replace the hub assembly. Kept snapping the studs.

It just keeps snapping studs so I guess I should look into that. I've got a bumper to bumper warranty for another 30K miles so I could probably push it off on Toyota. They might try to fight me because of the lift and everything.

 

I'd almost suspect you had the wrong design lug nuts on there. That should not be happening. The steelies should require acorn style which probably are not OEM to your truck. Can you post a pic of your lugs or PM? Also, what brand steel wheel?

It's very possible I have the wrong lug nuts as I just recycled them from my daily wheel/tire setup. Which is a completely different offset and tire size. I'm not sure of the lugnut brand as they came on the vehicle. The steelies are ones I ordered from Jegs a while back so I will have to dig through some stuff to find the brand.

 

I updated my post above to show the different kinds of lug nuts. This is very important to get right. Dont blow huge cash on ARP, you just need the right style of nut.

 

I would park the truck untill you get that sorted...just sayin, hitting a huge pot hole might snap a few and cause a big issue. #besafe

I'm going to have my boyfriend order some new studs from work and then I'll see about getting the correct lug nuts.

I've got the Runner parked right now and I plan on driving my car until I get it sorted out. Which is fine because I love my car but don't love driving it in the rain.

 

Good luck. I'd make sure you do it all right at once vs in stages.

 

Yeah once the studs come in we will pull them and replace them all and then put the wheels on with the new lug nuts so that it's all right going back together. I'll be at HF next weekend so I have to get this done ASAP to be ready.

You should be able to find those lug nuts locally. Autozone, Pepboys, O'Reilly

YmO'Reilly has them but not in one store. So I have to wait for them to collect them from all over Houston.
