Hi, would anyone happen to know if the Toyota mil discount ($500) and college grad discount ($750) can be applied together and if either (or both) can drive the price below invoice?

Yes they can be applied together and yes they can drive it below invoice. I would recommend negotiating the price as low as you can and then bring the rebates into the equation.

Agreed they can be stacked, however, I tried to do mil discount and was told it only applied if using Toyota financing which for me was not lucrative. They essentially matched it and I brought my own financing that was more attractive and saved more in the end so keep that in mind.

Text from the promotion listed on Toyota.com:
This rebate can be used toward any new Toyota vehicle purchased or leased through your dealer and Toyota Financial Services

Yes it must be financed through TFS but you can always refinance. I was only doing it for the discount then I was going to pay it off. The salesman made a mistake and didn't include the discount on the paperwork and instead just put the final price so I didn't have to use TFS. I just wrote a check for the full amount.

I'm looking to buy my first Tacoma and was wondering if this a good deal.

Tacoma TRD Sport Double Cab 4x2
Premium & Technology Package w/JBL Audio
    Tow Package
    Carpet Floor Mats

    upload_2017-4-24_18-20-18.jpg

This does not include APR. If not a good deal, what will be a good deal for this truck?

    Thank you for your help!

Hi all, I am looking at a

TRD Sport, Double Cab, 4x4, Automatic, with tow package, premium and tech package (non jbl), and all weather mats.

Total MSRP including delivery, processing handling, and distributors installed options $39,983.00

Dealership is offering to sell it at $37,227.00 + tax, tag, title, and a doc fee, comes out to 39,166.93 OTD.

Can anyone offer any insight into this deal?

Edit, they've come off the price another 800.00 now we're at $36,427.

Best I can tell the invoice price is as follows:
    Dealer cost for truck 32,580
    +Premium tech dealer cost 2100
    +towing dealer cost 579
+all weather mats dealer cost 139
    =total dealer cost $35,398

I am looking to get a 2017 TRD OR DC 4x4. I don't need the tech package, but a couple things I would like to have I listed below. I used the sheet in this thread as a price guide. I listed everything I want on the truck and MT vs. AT but am I missing any adds? Then I will have to add taxes for the difference in the new truck and trade. Is the Gulf States Toyota Fee included in the invoice price or do I add the $995 to the overall price? Am I missing any other fees? Do I ask for lower than invoice?

Now that I look at this pricing I think I have a couple better quotes. Even though I don't want any adds, there are 3 dealers quoting me $33,200 for a 2017 Tacoma TRD OR DC AT that has predator steps, TRD mats, towing package, and tinted windows. That comes out invoice of just the truck. It looks like they are offering me a good deal, what do you guys think?

Here is invoice + Gulf States Fees
    7544 - TRD OFF ROAD DOUBLE CAB 4X4 V6 AUTO........... $ 32153

Add Gulf States Toyota Fee $995
    Total = $33148

This looks like a great deal. I want the exact same truck and best I've been quoted is $35,665 before TT&L+Dealer Adds/Fees

I know this is late, but I wanted to add something about Costco pricing. When Costco sends you a price, do a quick search of the VIN. Often times the Costco dealership will be trading with another dealership in the region that they partner with. Also, the Costco price is NOT firm. You can still negotiate, even if it is low.

Here is an example of why you shop around, even with Costco pricing. The dealership with the Costco partnership tried to sell me a truck for MORE than the dealer that currently has it on the lot! This is nothing against Costco, simply the dealership falling in line with their Costco discount and hoping I don't research. Here's to 30 seconds on Google saving you $800!

Interesting; do you think Costco adjusted how they work the program or does it vary by region?

In August 2016, the Costco program connected me with someone at a specific dealership. I had to physically go to that dealership and sit down with the salesperson to get the pricing. They wouldn't do anything over phone or email.

I've met with my local Costco dealership and they wouldn't let me take anything home. I think it depends on the dealer and if they know you are local or not. This dealership just provided the Costco price. When I went in to my local dealership, they showed me was the itemized invoice with all of the dealership fees. It was extremely transparent and very detailed. Even showed the dealership holdback amount.

The way the program works is, Costco has a sales rep that goes to the dealerships and works with them in regards to establishing the program partnership. (adding a couple of small assumptions now) The Costco discounts are likely negotiated based on MSRP and are still negotiable to the end customer. That way Costco can say, "all our cars are our at least x% off MSRP". That's why Costco will follow up with a price assurance email to make sure you are satisfied. I'm sure the discounts vary by region. It's good for the dealership to get leads, but on quick selling, low margin vehicles like Toyotas, it's not as good of a deal. But a lot of customers are fine paying sticker, which is stupid. They don't even look for discounts that they qualify for.

I just received a dealership quote with the 2017 Limited model 7582 and instead of "invoice" the sheet uses "Mfg base price".

2 questions: 1) what's the difference between "invoice" and "mfg base price"? 2) The reason I ask is because the dealership gave me a "mfg base price of $34,955"...which is obviously lower than the listed invoice here.

you have to see the oem sticker (mulroney sticker) and then see if they added a secondary dealer sticker with a different price on it. they cant modify the mulroney sticker since that is required by federal law.

the pricing that is in the list is the federal mulroney sticker pricing. i cant track unique dealer made up pricing stickers.

unless your dealer lets you into the internal webiste (dealer daily) to pick and choose packages/options/colors, i usually glean info from people kind enough to post dealer sheets with invoice/msrp pricing on them.

    None as of yet
Ended up getting her for $37,500 (purchase price) then once taxes and fees were added I was just under 40k OTD.

I felt like I got a good deal, $2,233 off MSRP. We actually had discussed my purchase price being $37,000 even but then I later looked at the paperwork and it was $37,500..
