Odd question, I have an old unused well pump under my porch (the neighborhood has since switched to city water) and id like to start using it again to water the yard/garden instead of using the city water. has anyone done this that can give me some pointers? I would be happy just to replace everything with a hand pump for simplicity and longevity.

You can ask the President about priming the pump, he invented that, ya know.

We have a well for irrigation... saves me $250/month watering 1/2 acre yearround. It's a 240v 1hp electric pump and after 3 years not a lick of trouble. Get an electric pump and pressure tank... can't go wrong.

Hand pumps are for end of days prepper porn.

X2 on submersible electric pump if well is under 100ft deep and clear water you can save some money with a jet pump
