If you want a great deal and don't mind a bit of travel and a roadie look down in Dallas or Houston for a 4wd, bought an Audi down there a few years back and saved $7300

I concur and would add that New Mexico, especially southern New Mexico is a great place to search for vehicles. Just make sure you get the carfax, of course.

Thanks guys, my wife's cousin is near Dallas so that would be a good trip all around. I'll see if I can spot any offers in the New Mexico area as well. This forum rocks! Sincerely appreciate everyone taking time out of their day to give advice.

Like said, get real sliders. Not nerf bars or steps. They can't handle the weight of the vehicle and will bend right up into your rockers. There's a great example video of this on facebook but alas it won't let me post it here lol.

Thanks for trying! I've seen a few units that have nerf bars mounted. I assume it's pretty easy to remove those and replace with rock sliders, yeah?

I assume they're easy to take off, just bolted on. I've never had steps haha. Sliders come as either weld on (direct to the frame) or bolt on, frame as well.

Since it's such a perfect video, try searching for this on Facebook lol

Haha, I found it. Just looking at those nerf bars seems like they'd be prone to snagging. Crazy how it snapped off.
