They make up the weather forecasts so they might as well make up words.

That looks like a nice flooding rain. We had a decent amount of rain today but nothing heavy. Rain is supposed to change to snow tonight though. Only up to an inch expected. (That's what she said)

So you're saying you need more heavy rain? Lol. Could be fun to drive in.

 

That was my first thought, but...

Hydrology is the scientific study of the movement, distribution, and quality of water on Earth and other planets, including the water cycle, water resources and environmental watershed sustainability.

Other planets?!?

It is the name of a water purification company. And there is the National Hydrologic Warning Council. So it could be something

 

water resources engineer here , hydrologic conditions is a term we use

Speaking of which, we were supposed to have some kind of Hydrologic Condition that was supposed to make driving miserable this morning. Dry roads and sunshine, yup, miserable

I guess it follows suit with weathermen who are now called meteorologists; trash men now called sanitary engineers; prison guards now referred to as corrections officers and the list goes on...

Had torrential rain during my morning commute. I was driving her car and the traction control lite kept flashing at me. She took the Taco to work and had no problems

We've had a ton of rain around me recently. I don't think I ever remember so many flash flood warnings in a 2 day span. I got a little water in my basement which resulted in some wet carpet and some wet boxes in my storage area. Nothing major. Thank God for fans and dehumidifiers. Anyway. I went out yesterday after a good rain. Didn't see anything pic worthy of high waters. I pulled these off of Facebook that friends either took or shared with me. Wednesday was when we got the most rain in the shortest amount of time.
