Were you not using 'S' mode before? I understand the practicality of this for someone that does a lot of city driving 1-4 gear changes, but seems like it wouldn't be as advantageous if you're trying to hold 5th. I'm waiting for that OV tune to do what my right hand cannot.

26k miles on my truck and it's still changing how it shifts it seems. For the better, thank goodness.

Also, great job with this OP. I nerded out when I saw your initial project, and now that it's mature I am very envious! Glad people are happy with it.

Being in S-5 wouldn't help with the downshift with the 4th to 5th cycle since it's just a max gear limiter. I'm still curious how the ShiftSense would help him in that situation though since it's just simulating the manual shifts. Maybe just coincidence?

That's kind of what I mean, it would help initially wind out 4th a bit longer so your 5th gear change is at a little higher rpm, but once in 5th it does nothing to hold it for you. I think that's what S-mode was intended for in the first place, for the overdrive gears not coming in too early (and 4x4). For someone who does mostly highway driving, it's probably better on your wallet to just learn your truck and use the S mode accordingly.

The very reason and use I bought mine for. Best of both worlds IMO.

I used something similar to that: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B017IBP1MK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I do wonder if it's causing a delay in the SS Pro "reading" from the OBDII, but still have to trial that theory. I have a Verizon Hum installed along w/ the SS Pro and it seems to work fine.

Mine shipped two days ago. Still waiting at the USPS snail office. I would have paid extra to avoid snail mail.

So today I received my unit which was shipped on May 21st. And I have some questions.

When I started my truck and moved it into s on my Center display it says S4. Is this normal? Because during my first drive it also never changed but it was definitely shifting gears.

When I got on the highway for a bit I was up to 70 and I was at 3200 RPM. Is this normal? Felt like it should have shifted up even when I got almost up to 80 my rpms rose to almost 4k. So curiously I tapped the Plus and in the center it said I'd switch to 5th. Didn't seem right.

Are you sure you had the switch on? It sounds like it was off from what you are describing.

After a phone call from the OP within 15 minutes of my post, and determining it wasn't functioning properly, upon removal discovered the red wire had come out of the female receptacle.

Can't ask for better customer service though. A PM to request my number to figure it out almost immediately. A label for the return and an overnight replacement.
