Got any specific products you'd recommend? Menzerna was mentioned; any others?

Apparently I'm known as the Chemical Guys cultist around here.

Most of my experience is with thier products. I recently did a two-stage polish with their V36 and V38 set. To me their products have always been easy to use and have given me great results. I trust every product to do what they say it will do (and more importantly to not do what they say it won't) I have heard great things about Adam's Polishes and Ammo as well.

I've also heard good things about Adams. And I think I need to jump on the Chemical Guys bandwagon lol

I also like Shine Supply Classic Cut. Works well as a 1 step product.

Sonax as has a really nice 1-step too. I've not used it but it gets great reviews. Formulated for DA. Another popular 1-step with diminishing abrasives is this one from Menzerna. It's on my shelf and ready to test.

    Tried and true.

    Porter cable or similar DA
-Maguire's m205 w/ Lake Country White polishing/finishing pad for light swirls (2 passes)

-Maguire's m105 w/ Lake Country Orange cutting pad (2 passes) followed by Maguire's 205 w/ Lake Country White polishing/finishing pad (2 passes) for heavy swirls. I'd consider yours on the heavier side.

    50/50's of this process

Leave the wetsanding alone. Always attack with the least abrasive method then move up if you don't achieve your desired results.

    Coming Soon....
Wow, I am learning so much from this thread! Thank you guys for the information. I am moving into a new home and as soon as we are settled, I am grabbing the DA and checking out some of these recommended products! I will post pictures after I'm finished.

    One last question...
What do you guys use on the plastics of the truck? Both the black outside stuff and the interior stuff?

Aerospace 303 - use it just about on everything. Tires, exterior trim, dash, seats.

Adam from Ammo NYC has the best car detailing tips IMO. This may help you with your scratches.

Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant for exterior trim. Awesome stuff. Expensive but a little goes a looong way. A 4oz bottle will last forever.

Wolfgang Cockpit Trim Sealant is nice on interior plastics.

    Both available from Autogeek.com.
