So I ordered a set a Maxtrax with the pins and the two Rotopax universal mounting plates to install on my Front Runners roof rack. I can't seem to get any of the holes to match up with my rack rails. Anyone else have this problem or a solution? Maybe the plates and pins don't work with the rack, but I wanted to check before attempting to sell or return them. I see a lot of guys running the maxtrax and rotopax on their front runners racks.

I have the RotopaX dual mount, I had to drill holes slightly larger to use the existing FRO rails. That's mounting front to back.

As for Maxtrax, it depends on how you mount it. Across the rack from left to right, it should work flawlessly. But if you mount front to back, then you would a special mount that FRO makes.

You need extra brackets/mounts if you want to mount the MaxTrax lengthwise. Easy to make a set from aluminum:

Thanks guys. I may need to think about a custom bracket as I'm leaning towards running it front to back (Maxtrax).

Do you have the measurements on that bracket?
