I want to go led on the interior lights (dome, map and vanity mirror lights). I'm on superbrightleds.com website, should I just buy the recommended bulbs they choose for me, or are there better ones?

I want to do it right the first time. Is that website good for LEDs?
Also it's a 2015. I've seen other threads but for older years, don't know if it's changed or not.

And since we're talking LEDs, what would you recommend for the DRL bulbs? I've seen ones where they would be white and turn amber when they are flashing

I recommend v3 Triton LED switchbacks. Have them in my truck and love them. I got the 5k white and amber. Theyre a bit pricey but completely worth it imo. Ive been running them about 6months now without issue.

    Where did you buy them?
How do they work? in terms of when signal is on etc.
Do they just plug and play? or is there some sort of wiring harness involved? Do you have any picture behind the light, where I could see the harness or whatever's there?

PO got LEDs on headlights and fogs but don't know which color (guessing 6k). Would like to match with DRLs. Wait does DRLs turn off when headlights are on? If so then it doesn't matter

They are plug and play, including the resistors to fix hyperflash. White DRLs and amber turn signals. I bought mine off the vleds website linked below.

    http://www.vleds.com/vehicle-specif...-white-amber-switchback-drl-turn-signals.html

Dont have any pics behind the headlight at the moment but i can get some later today if youd like. My drls on my 09 turn off when i turn the headlights on, but if yours dont, they also include a dimming wire that you can plug in to dim them if your drls dont turn off

Superbrightleds.com is legit. Got a full set to do my girlfriends 4Runner and her sisters RAV4. It can get pricey though but you get what you pay for.

I'll weigh in with another +1 for Superbrightleds.com... been using them for years for auto/home lighting needs. Never had one of their bulbs fail... in terms of your interior lights, I'd recommend their 'cool white' interior color, and look for the bulbs that put out the most lumens. Don't be afraid of the oversized bulbs, but do take some time to measure available space...

Those look really good, but damn $200 for a couple of bulbs... thats a little too much of what I'm planning to spend. But thanks for your info.

Also, the DRLs on mine just dim when I turn on the headlights.

The dome light that superbrightleds.com recommends for my 2007 tacoma prerunner doesn't fit. Specifically, they recommend a 44mm festoon:

    https://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/dome-light-bulb/578-led-bulb-8-led-festoon-44mm-car/3582/

However, my dome light is 38mm, and the recommended LED physically doesn't fit. Pic for comparison attached.

Anyone else run into this problem? A quick search for 38mm LEDs reveals this possible replacement, though I don't know why there are 2 resistors attached to the back of it.

That happened to me too. I'm exchanging emails with them right now, to see if I can get a new bulb that would fit.

buy the kit from @csjumper2003 instead. i love mine, and they're not as pricey as VLEDS. may require a little more work, but well worth it IMO.

I didn't went for the exchange because it was going to be too much hassle. I just used the bulb and turned it to the side a little bit so it would stay in the socket. I'm don't like it that much because also the lumens are very low, but it would do for now.

I have superbrightled bulbs throughout the interior with no issues now for a couple years. I've been running the DTRL switchbacks fro Csjumper for almost 2 years as well without any problems.

Dang they wanted you to actually send the led back?? The shipping would be more than the led I would think!

I am emailing them right now, I'll let ya know what they tell me.

Interesting! Do you by chance know what led you used for the dome light?
