    Is it wise to do the build yourself with your parts on a chrome grill if you plan on having it color matched? Or will the chrome mess with it?

    Totally up to you. I've heard of mixed results from folks trying to color match over chrome. I don't do it.

    If you do I would suggest scuffing utt then using either a self etching primer and/or adhesion promoter. I painted mine but it was before I knew how to do it right, mines chipping in places because I didn't scuff/ prime well enough.... good luck if you do!
