I've recently sold my first gen and moved on to an '05 TRD Off-Road. I'm looking for some ideas for HID Hi/Low swaps and enclosures for them and also any cool fog light replacements that people have done.
If this is posted in the wrong place or I've made some forum error, come at me; I just created an account after years of scouring these forums and I can't wait to bump heads with you animals!

Welcome to TW! If you don't want to spend a ton on full projector retrofits and HIDs this is a great alternative:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/the-ultimate-headlight-upgrade-not-led-or-hid.398066/

If you were not aware you cannot run most HIDs/LEDs in your OEM housings without scatter/glare:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/why-leds-should-not-be-run-in-halogen-reflectors.454371/

For early 2nd gen you might check out The Retrofit Source Morimoto LED fog replacements. They replace the entire housing to an LED compatible lens design, as you should not use drop in LEDs in the fog reflectors.

That is an awesome thread. I'm probably going to follow it step by step in a few months when I have time! Am I free to use any housings that are designed for halogen bulbs?

Technically yes, but light optics/output often suffer in aftermarket housings so stock will likely perform best. This is especially true in designs that look significantly different than stock. If going aftermarket look for CAPA certification, though these will look like stock. I'd suggest the darker smoked chrome OEM housings for best performance vs looks. There are links in the thread with part numbers for the 05-11 smoked chrome lights.
