Sorry about your numerous issues with your truck. That would drive me completely nuts especially having to deal with the service dept.
I bought 3 Truck's from Scott Toyota, called Riverside now I think. And My first 4x4 back in '74 from Westside Toyota , bought out by Larry Miller long ago. Some were completely flawless, the '74 and the 88 were made in Japan and I never had one issue. the 98 and 04 were made here and they both started acting up around 36k miles after the warranty was up. Never stranded me just nickel and diming for the rest of their life with me. Finally sold the '04 Tacoma and bought a '12 T4R SR5. Coming up on 5 years of ownership and not one issue. Loving it. It does make me wonder tho, my 74 and 88 and now T4R and not one issue and all made in Japan. The 2 made here both had various fails. Hmmm, I'm seeing a pattern.
People here call the T4R forum boring but it's mainly because they talk mostly about mods and other stuff besides having problems which are few and far between. Usually problems over there are self inflicted when the mod they are installing is giving them issues.

The only issues my 2009 Regular cab has are the resistor for the hvac fan that I have to poke to fix the connection every couple of months and the stupid anti-lock brakes that don't want to brake properly on snow and ice. The stupid "objects are closer than they appear" are gone thanks to @SMKYTXN's aspherical blind spot mirrors. I'm happy with my truck.
