    Working on it.
You won't have to worry about your transmission for a few years atleast.

These threads are why I traded my 2016 Tacoma for a 2016 4Runner Premium addition. I was glad to pay the $750 in addition. Same year same miles. Honda Dealer.

I was a fanboy for Tacomas since the 90s and had five of them. The 2016 TRD Sport with the $3000 JBL package I bought early last October for $500 over invoice OTD ($33500). I loved the truck and defended it. I noticed like others the the LCA howling and duct taped the holes. TSB?

Next, my transmission was jerking into gear on downshifts and missing on acceleration as well. They did a reprogram but it did not help, Then I found I was a quart low in transmission fluid. About 3 weeks ago I started hearing a bearing whine on deacceleration and heard about the pending recall.

That's when I spotted the 16 4Runner on the Honda lot and threw out my offer. They went for it and East Coast Honda had to take it in for the recall where it has been awhile now.

I can put anything in the 4Runner I put in the truck bed....even more, because it will take 8-foot boards without sticking out the back window. Gas mileage is about 2-3MPG less the way I drive it. It is more comfortable and smooth and the electrical adjusting "leather" seats are better than I remembered. What do I miss about the Tacoma? Well, I liked the tech package with the JBL system. I have the same NAV and screen in the 4Runner but the physical buttons make it seem smaller.

I had no reservations about the 2016 first year issues. But this is way over the top for any Toyota especially the Tacoma. I am glad to be back in a 4.0 engine. without all the MPG stretching engine tricks, Toyota uses to meet CAFE standards. I was a tad disappointed with the fuel economy of the redesigned engine. AVG 21.5 4Runner is at 19.5 around town with a very light foot.

TWO WORDS I NEVER HEARD FORM TOYOTA UNTIL NOW.....It's "Normal" and the worst:

    "THEY ALL DO IT"
Four words that say in essence, they recognize the problem but won't do anything about it

went to toyota of sarasota today to get a 4 wheel alignment (79.00 special) and was telling them about the vibe in the driveline etc. referred tot he t-sb and the master tech, shop forman and service advisor all drove the truck. none could feel or hear the vibration. must be wet brains! it is very noticeable. so the advisor suggested opening a case with toyota. anyone had any experience with this avenue? phone number? name? not quite understanding why only the 4 wd units. especially when my 2 wd is replicating the exact symptoms. help me out here guys, like you usually do!

I usually have to take them for a ride in order to show them what I am explaining--I recommend you do the same, and try to nicely guide them in what they should look out for and when. I feel like it is too easy for them to write "could not replicate" on the report and be done.

one of our metal working members should come up with a wedge to put in there to decrease the angle.

Just went to the dealer for this today. Dealer was able to replicate the vibration and has scheduled to take in next week to apply the TSB. Sucks that any dealership would try to deny this and say its normal

I put about 300# in back over the axle and the vibration noticeably decreased,

when you add weight, the chassis settles down in relation to the rear housing, thereby reducing the angle. result is less racket (vibration). we need to have toyota get the fix for the 2 wd units!

4x4 yes. They say that the angles are all in spec and even showed me the paper work from the tab with measurements from my truck written on it.

They'll be adding the damper and replacing the rear shocks for "squeaking"

has anyone with a 2 wheel drive tacoma had the fix outlined in the t-sb done to their truck? does anyone who has a 2 wheel drive truck have the symptoms out lined in the t-sb? mine is very noticeable. need to get this fixed. i am suspicious that the reason it affects only the 3rd gen trucks is because they are 1" higher than the 2nd gen. think about it. if you raise it up front and rear even 1", it will change the driveline angle.
