My Truck Came in!!! But it's Wrong

You won't find a MT with a tech package on a lot. I,ve looked for months. Only very few without. I'd go for a discount on what they have and not look back. There is a sport with tech and MT a Hendrick dealer on the east coast in quicksand. Only one I ever saw.

 

I'm going to start over. Will search tonight. Wouldn't be happy without it the way I wanted it.

 

MGMTaco17 is correct that's how it should go. The order sheet and order confirmation should have been provided to you. Then a temp. vin# and when the truck was built a perm. vin#.

Exactly. My process was straight forward.

 

According to the dealer, toyota switched it for some unknown reason. I'm not trying to call them liars. Just heartbreaking. Maybe I'll find a pro with a discount now . Everything happens for a reason, I guess.

 

Just curious, why do you want the tech package? I wish I didn't have it on mine after owning it for nearly a year. I'm not trying to persuade you out of it just want to know what you like about it

 

There is more reason for the dealer to switch the vehicle they are offering you (in order to sell it to someone else) then for Toyota to switch the order.
Hopefully this isn't the only dealer in your area. Shop around, I would't feel right dealing with the people you have been dealing with if this happened to me.

 

They screwed my son when they sold his truck that he ordered because the sales person did not notify him or secure it once it was delivered. His was a TRD 4x4 DCSB OR MT6. In the end we switched dealerships and reordered the same and waited 4 months. I know it's jacked up but get what you want even if you have to wait. In the end your sorrow will turn to joy just as my son did. Good luck.

 

You think that's bad?! Dude I was at a Mexican restaurant tonight and I told my waiter no lettuce on my enchilada and guess what, lettuce! Quality control is really lacking lately

 

I want the heated seats and moonroof and body painted bumper. I know that's not a deal breaker for everyone, but I had my heart set on getting it exactly how I wanted it.

Heated seats...amazing.

Moonroof...even more amazing.

Body painted bumper...meh, I grew to like it it more than the chrome, at least on the 3G with the upturn pieces. First two >>>> last one.

FWIW, the Pro doesn't come with the moonroof. It was the dealbreaker for me at the time.

 

I wanted the moon roof in the worst way, but decided against it only due to headroom issues. Love the new truck, but still wish it had a moon roof! If there was any way I could have made it work off road without banging the hell out of my noggin, I'd have it. That's the only thing that keeps me from having regrets....it simply would not work for me.

But I still feel it when I drive around socal on a nice day and wish I could have made it work!

Take the extra time and get what you want. An extra couple months is nothing compared to driving around in a truck for 5 years or more that is just going to make you pissed every time you get in it about how the dealer screwed up or sold what you wanted out from under you because some douche waving a check for MSRP saw it and wanted it, and the dealer wanted the additional profit.

That is, that the dealer would even promise you anything lolo!

I hope you didn't put any money down, these trucks are selling as soon as they're built and the dealer is full of chit.

I would just hit the internet and locate one there on a dealer's lot somewhere and be ready to travel otherwise you might be waiting till sales cool off or a miracle happens.

But they do say good things come to those who wait, so there's that. On the other hand, they don't say how long you need to wait.

Did you get the build spec sheet when it was in production? From the moment I got the build date and VIN number I was able to see exactly what my vehicle was going to have. I made sure to double check the build invoice to make sure it was exactly what I wanted. How is it that you ordered something and months later took delivery on something different. Doesn't the VIN match what you were given?
