I have these. They are great. Pitch black and easy to remove if you for some reason want light or to open the window.

Yes...Lots going on with the ship and all. Running the plant during these kinds of ops is a little more of a challenge.

It is amazing how much it helps. and it reflects light so helps with cooling, however slight.

    Those look stout

How many windows did you have to do? stuff adds up quick, but still worth it I'm sure.

Any money spent to assist in sleeping during the day is usually always worth it. But, $40 will get me a handle of Jack and some coke :D and i'd need about $160 of the blackoutez mat to do my sleep room  stupid "natural light" house

Luckily my sleep room is tiny and the window is maybe 32x55. A tad too big for the $30 size small blackoutez, but with only 1 window I can't complain.

Every room in our house has multiple windows. My original plan was to build enclosed hinged "boxes" of sorts to cover the windows, but that would require multiple anchor holes in the wall. That's why I went the foil, blanket, foam and tape route.

Yeah I now get to fill holes and repaint around my window that I jacked up since I didn't think tape would work as well :frusty:. Oh and I've also discovered ear plugs for sleeping that apparently help me a ton which I never would've imagined. o_O

I'm always paranoid when I have ear plugs in that I'll miss something so I usually don't wear them. I just have a floor fan for noise and air flow. Being upstairs helps too. There's not a lot of things I can hear up there luckily.

Yeah I've wondered about missing something when wearing the ear plugs. The weird thing is that I've always been the heaviest sleeper up until recently when every little thing wakes me up now

You can do custom size's too. It would be easy and cheaper to steal the design and just buy vinyl and 3m style Velcro from another source.

Yeah that was actually one of the reviews on Amazon. (Overpriced and could be made diy cheaper) I just ordered the large size and can just trim to fit. Moving the current blackout curtains and trying to get them just right all the time gets old.

This is the stuff I use. It's industrial bubble wrap with tin foil on both sides. Cut to fit and sealed with blue painters tape. And a window quilt. It also helps keep the noise from the daywalkers out. I don't give two shits if it looks like a mj growing operation, in the end I can get to sleep!

    Funny story...

Couple years back when we were getting our deck painted, the "crew" we hired from craigslist... another story... synopsis - you get what you pay for... two younger Mexican dudes saw the tin foil windows upstairs and asked while pointing at the window "you got some Mexicans living here?" I asked if that was common. Apparently they said they do it for darkness and keeping heat down in the house. same results I was aiming for :D
