I'm pretty happy with my work truck. It's a 2016 Silverado. I beat the ever loving crap out of it getting to remote mountain top sites and the only issue it has is the lower valance on the front bumper is coming off. I do 35K miles a year, it has 80K on it now without issue. If it was a personal rig, I'd upgrade to the 6.2l (420hp) as it gets the same fuel mileage as the 5.3l. I also have a 2008 2500HD with 100K+ miles on it. The only issue it's ever had was one glow plug went out, but to be honest the diesel is expensive to maintain. Oil changes are $100 even if I do it myself. It rides really fucking rough compared to the 1500 too, and unless you're towing isn't really that great. It pays off when the 28' travel trailer is behind it though. What about the Colorado?

 Howdy. A couple posts about the eclipse in the NW WA meet BS thread (https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/nw-wa-meet-bs-thread.224544/). Nothing solid, just a couple ideas being thrown around, trying to come up with a location off the beaten path. I'm actually trying to find a day in June to go scouting.

Looked at the Colorado. Basically the same size as a double cab. And that only gains ~3-5" over mine.

Making progress on the crawler for the first time in a few years.

If I ever mention doing a complete paint job ever again, shoot me. Most miserable thing in the world.

Actually, I think that is pretty fair for his year, AC, and I'm sure mileage. Maybe 14 would be better

Heeeeeell no! Haha. Got the rest of the body panels primered today. Paint is the most tedious, miserable thing in the world. Pretty stoked to be making progress on this thing again though.

I know a guy towards Silverton who would have done that job for less than you'd imagine... Full body shop too...

Yeah. I rattle canned my car then wet sanded it and called it good a few years ago. I'll eventually paint it, but not until everything else is done (also have to do some lead work). Right now, I'm waiting for my new back half to be ready for me to pick up down in Sacramento, then it's on to building the frame and trying to find someone with the tools to help me build a cage. I need to get some big pieces of cardboard to make templates for the main and front hoop.

"Back in the day" I did a lot of lead work on old vehicles, custom sleds, and hotrods. Now it's a lost art.

Gentlemen I know I don't post in here much but I need some help. I rolled my truck and need a first gen bed and body to get up and going again. If anyone has a lead on one Id be very appreciative.
