Having Issues with Rear Leaf Spring Recall with Toyota and the Dealership.

They asked for proof. You can't supply it. Why is that their fault?

Sucks, sure. But since you don't have anything but a story and a picture, what are they supposed to do?

They're asking for a minimum criteria to be met, and you can't produce it. Not sure how a lawyer will change that. They're a business like any other, and can't be expected to write checks on request without documentation of why.

 

I think the issue is that they should have been keeping proof and well documented visits. If they were this wouldn't even be an issue. It sounds like his service record is a shit show.

 

Since you're getting the shaft because the dealership didn't take proper records of your purchase, then I'd start there.

They are the problem.

Press them to correct the situation and then go to bat for you and assist you on getting the situation handled with Toyota.

 

Im just going to take the dealership to small claims court since they are the ones I'm having issues with. They are twisting their statements to avoid refunding me the parts I had to purchase before the recall was made.

 

I sent you the service history for your vehicle direct from toyota systems in a pdf.

That will not work since I ended up getting the OME they had there for sell.

 

What they probably did then was do a quick inspection on the service drive without opening a repair order.

If this type of thing happens to anyone else, ask the dealer to open a repair order just to document it. Get a copy and keep it. If they won't, then explain to them you'll be calling corporate which will most likely result in them opening one anyway.

 

Now that I have a copy of my service records. I have contacted corporate one final time showing them the lack of records kept by the dealership and how my records do not reflect theirs in the services I have had performed. All this comes down to is that the dealer kept piss poor records of my services and now that I have a complaint, they are fighting me because they can't refer to records they cant find.

It disappoints me. Im a fanboy of Toyota. My girlfriend loves my truck and I have no intentions on getting rid of it. I actually plan on turning it into a overlander and getting a 4Runner as a daily driver. I have had no issues with this vehicle since I bought it other than this.

 

Sounds like your issue is with the dealer though, not Toyota. If the dealer had been inputting service information like they are supposed to this would have been corrected for you long ago.
