    Okay,

so with memorial day weekend upon us and a pre approved letter from my credit union, I think I'm ready to really look. I've taken a lot of everyones advise and can see now how inflated that OP price was. I found this one with an avg of abou 21k miles/yr. Not my favorite color but definitely dont hate it.

I've got the day off tomorrow and was just gonna drive around but what do you guys think about this guy? car fax shows plenty of maintenance records which I like!

That's not horrible but I still think the price is high for the mileage/year. I see stickers maybe? Is it a TRD? I paid only $700 more for the same year SR5 of the same year new. Just traded that truck in for $19,750 with 50k miles on it. See how close to $20k you can get. The dealer I gave mine to already had it sold for somewhere between $21.5k and $23k I guess.

I paid less than $30,000 for a 2014 DCSB 4x4 TRDOR 6MT. It had 29,000 miles on it and I bought it a year ago. You can do better. Try looking out of state.

I found something similar to your purchase.

If I could get them around to 28.5, then I think I can go for this one

California rates and taxes are a POS. My credit union unfortunately doesnt apply to out of state vehicles and I doubt anyone will match their sub 2.0 interest rate. I'm actually gonna go now and check out the truck in the link above.

    Correct.
I spoke with the dealer asking for pics of the bed. The drive is about 1.5 hours for me. I want to make sure theres enough through pics to warrant the drive.

The rep did mention sales will start tomorrow and that they could work on this truck's pricing. Of course, theyll say anything to get you to come...

I'll wait on pics for now

Currently haggling on a 2013 TRD off road.

Trying to get them at 26.5 (working from 28)

This thing was barely put on the lot. No sticker.

    UPDATE: swing and a miss.

No he came back with 26665. I was willing to walk for that $165. Honestly, I went in to look at another truck to kinda kick the tires around when I saw this particular truck behind it. Total coincide. I figured it would be good practice to go back and forth.
I want to see just how much on average I can skim off the price.

Wait the dealership was willing to let you walk for $165? What's stopping them from (after seeing you get up and start leaving) saying OK well give you 26.5? Smh.

I guess they believe another buyer will come in and pay higher.

That truck will sell, and the dealership knows it. Its a fair price.

Exactly. I had two managers come by and go back and forth. One of them went with the "bro" thing and mentioned the truck would sell by this weekend no problem.
I wished them luck and thanked the associate

Oh, no doubt it definitely sells.
It was a good experience for me practicing and measuring myself. Its so damn easy to start considering your pre set max cost.

The thing about Tacoma's is they're everywhere. There's one out there for me eventually.

My ten year old was more upset than anyone else..lol

You'll definitely find one. No need to rush that is for sure!

There's definitely one out there for you. I got lucky after about two months of searching on the web. One Saturday night I decided to swing by a local dealership just to see what was on the floor. 2.5 hours later I was driving away in exactly what I wanted within my price range.
4 years ago it took me 6 months to find my first Tacoma. That was my "learning" curve about all the great features and potential in these trucks
    Good luck with the search!

    @Turbulent28 i tagged you in a post

Get in touch with him and ask what the dealer is offering him - you may be close to your budget. If so, it's a helluva deal
