I beg to differ, i failed algebra and did terribly in geometry, just all around sucked in math, but somehow I made it as a fabricator/welder/machinist. All of which rely heavily on math.

 

Sorry I meant for retention of knowledge, not for future prospects. People do learn things differently. The science I found the hardest was Biology and yet I'm an agronomist. A good one too. Grades don't always translate to real world talent. However if you were good at long division in school it'll probably come back to you quickly over someone who hated math and wanted to forget the methods they learned there.

Well gents, I'll be honest. Last night was devastating. Still haven't really gotten over the fact that the season is over.

We were so close. A lucky bounce was all the Sens needed to make it to the finals. They just never got it.

I don't know why I'm so shocked.

I don't know if its the fact that the Sens were never supposed to even still be playing at this point? Was it the fact that pretty much every analyst out there wrote them off before the season even started? Before the playoffs even started? Before every series started? Was it the fact that they had just taken the contending cup champs to game 7 of the ECF? Was it the fact this was the closest they had come in 10 years to even get to the cup finals? Is it the fact they were wrongly categorized as 'boring' and the fans ridiculed at by other fans? Was it the fact that the Sens had so many off-ice story lines (Anderson's wife, MacArthur's return, etc)? Was it just the fact that I had invested so much time into watching every single game this season? I still don't know.

What I know is that they had the perfect story going, and its going to take me and other sens fans a while to get over those questions.

I mean, I kinda saw it coming in the back of my mind. We were getting out-shot and out-chanced in OT. But it sure didn't make it any easier to watch. That was one of the most stressful games I have watched in over 10 years. And seeing that puck get behind Andy felt I got punched in the balls.

Seeing Boucher, a guy who is usually uncannily unemotional almost lose it during the post game interviews really showed the team had what it took. Seeing Anderson be completely devastated the moment that puck went in, frozen in shock. Seeing the whole team just stare blankly as the Pens rightly celebrate. Seeing Karlsson trying to smile and be sportsmanlike during the handshakes when you can tell he really felt they had it.

I guess there's always next year. I guess every hockey fan goes through it. But damn, that was hard to watch.

 

TL;DR

 

Sens will be back next year. Please play the Caps first, though.
