I'd definitely wait to hear some feedback on them....I'm really wary of non-namebrand aftermarket parts sold exclusively on eBay. Especially something like headers that will ruin your day (or week) if they turn out to be bunk

I have some jba knock offs from ebay and i used them for my custom turbo set up and they are also from speed daddy i believe. The welds looked really good to me and i have 5 or 6k miles on them so far no issues. Its a little different style than those and it was just headers no y pipe. I too didnt wanna drop a lot of cash on somethin i was gonna cut and weld on (and possibly screw up haha)20160901_164006.jpg 20161027_200738.jpg

No form or fitment issues? If you're running these similar ones without any leaks or other issues I'm tempted to pull the trigger

no they fit perfect and no leaks to speak of, I am 2nd gen so its a little different I suppose, but of all the turbo stuff I got off ebay my headers were what I was most impressed with I would say

I was just watching Mighty Car Mods last night where they turbo a car. They talk about shitty aftermarket headers having pieces of the welds break off and end up in the turbo. Just be careful of that bit.

I'm not saying they all are like this but all my welds looked pretty solid, and the tubes seem to be 1 piece primaries so the only real internal welds are at the merge, the 1st minute or so of this video is just and over look of the headers

Nice! Yeah, I order non branded stuff off ebay all the time. It's a good idea to give it a good inspection. Although, I suppose you could say that about ordering anything.

Also, I think the mighty car mods guys were talking about welds that penetrated into the inside of the header like a stalagtite or something. The weld material seperates and ends up in the turbo.

Nice videos...I subscribed, I'll check em out next week when I have more time.

That's cool. I like wood working and guns too. I don't do either of them but I really like watching Youtube videos of wood working, metal working, fab work, guns etc.

Damn, those welds are perfectly acceptable IMO. I have been putting ordering these off but I took my truck camping this weekend and the exhaust leak was terribly annoying so I will order them this week

Yeah, they look great from the outside. I'd still stick a camera down them and see what they look like on the inside as well...just to be 100%..you know? Can't hurt, right?

I ended up ordering the ones from speed_daddy since they have the best reviews of all the stores selling these headers.

Good plan, I'll try and make a video of it if I can.

@yota243 did you paint yours? I know the stainless will eventually dull if uncoated but I don't know if it's worth going through the effort of paint/prep, especially if I'm not sure of the fitment... It would suck to paint/prep then find out they don't fit. It would also suck to test fit, then pull apart to paint.

I have had very good luck with ebay manifolds in the past. If running a large turbo you want to brace the weight so it does not hang on the headers.

Also rewelding all welds has worked for high HP applications making it still way cheaper than other options.

I didn't, its 304 ss so I didn't worry about painting since rust should never be an issue. I did manage to coat the passenger side more than once really good in oil haha.

Yeah, not really worried about rust but I figured they might get pretty dull/oxidized over time

In the short term, yes. Over time they will probably become dull gray or brown from heat cycling.

I don't really care enough to do anything about it though

The headers arrived, it appears that speed daddy ships the DNAMotoring ones. The welds aren't perfect but most are pretty good and all are acceptable. These aren't show truck headers but I don't have a show truck so I won't complain

I spent 11 hours fighting the truck today and still didn't finish the install. Videos and pics to come once I finish. I'll also post up some pointers for anyone else brave enough to pick up these headers
